Oct 8 (Reuters) - Electronics and furniture retailer Courts Asia Ltd, which operates stores in S'pore and M'sia, launched an initial public offering (IPO) to raise S$137 million ($112 m) mainly to fund its expansion in Indonesia.

Listing comes after the Co, failed to list its shares in 2010 while a plan to sell the firm was also scuppered.

Courts is offering 178 million shares, of which 60 million are new shares. Offer price @S$0.77 per share is at the top end of an indicative price range due to strong support from institutions. Co said in a statement on Monday.

It plans to list on Oct. 15.

Courts plans to use 91.3% of the net proceeds to tap the growing middle class in Indonesia, which it said is a large and fast-growing market that is still under-penetrated.

Courts has four cornerstone investors - JF Asset Management Ltd, New Silk Road Investment Pte Ltd, Target Asset Management Pte Ltd and Value Partners Hong Kong Ltd - which have taken up 44% of the IPO.

The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corp Ltd is the sole global coordinator, bookrunner, underwriter and issue manager of the IPO. UOB Kay Hian Private Ltd is the public offer coordinator and sub-placement agent.

" Do u think that Religare Healthcare Trust likely to open above it's ipo price on it's debut or not? (likely mat not be enuff to cover commission, unless one is hold alot of placement shr)

what's yr take on it? (STAG, if been offer and or even go against it by shorting which I don recommend)

becos I see u always post on ipos (quite often if it interest me, not always lahh)

Frankly, hav not done any analysis, so far Ascendas Indian Trust, Indiabulls, Meghmani have performed below par. In fact, Reliance Communications Ltd aborted its IPO plan in July 2012, citing weak mkt conditions.

Indian firm do not IPO well traditionally on SGX, may open from flat to just above water.

Stag is the only possibility if been offer, may also enuff to cover commission, be prepare to buy at afew more lots lower to off load off placement shr at offer price.

Thk for sharing, for such as this two comment, indeed, they are very pro in trading, BBs oso sometime has their failure, lost alot $$$.

One tat do not really loss much, but win alot are brokers and remisers who can really discipine themself n treat it like nomal business. No gambling, even if business is low in volume, they will buy / sell just to hit their volume TP.

Stocks is a zero sum game. To really earn one must not be too greed and rush into buying.

it is when one is greedy most money will be lost chasing prices.

BBs are professionals who study human behaviour well before playing their techniques.

If you feel very inclined to buy higher,the psychological spring trap has worked and you have fallen into their distribution trap.

Friday. Dec 21, 2012 is last Maya date, then hav a nice wake up call. Saturday. 1st to learn what happening is New Zeeeeeland, follow quickly by Sydney. We may oso be 1st to learn what is happening on actual day. (nite liao in Sinjiapor after mid-nite....different time zone).

Reproductive Tract - Because reproductive tract cells divide rapidly.
These are areas of the body can be damaged at rem levels as low as 200.
On long-term basic..., some radiation sickness victims will become sterile.
Don't play play with this, if would be anyone, anyone....want to form a FAMILY.

Radiation Effects on Humans...

Certain body parts are more specifically affected by exposure to different types of radiation sources. Several factors are involved in determining the potential health effects of exposure to radiation. These include:

The size of the dose (amount of energy deposited in the body)
The ability of the radiation to harm human tissue
Which organs are affected..?

The most important factor is the amount of the dose - the amount of energy actually deposited in your body. The more energy absorbed by cells, the greater the biological damage. Health physicists refer to the amount of energy absorbed by the body as the radiation dose. The absorbed dose, the amount of energy absorbed per gram of body tissue, is usually measured in units called rads. Another unit of radation is the rem, or roentgen equivalent in man. To convert rads to rems, the number of rads is multiplied by a number that reflects the potential for damage caused by a type of radiation. For beta, gamma and X-ray radiation, this number is generally one. For some neutrons, protons, or alpha particles, the number is twenty.

Hair - Losing hair quicckly and in clumps occurs with radiation exposure at 20 rems or higher.

Brain - Brain cells do not reproduce, it won't be damaged directly unless it exposure is 5,000 rems or greater. Like the heart, radiation kills nerve cells and small blood vessels, and can cause seizures and immediate death.

Thyroid - Certain body parts are more specifically affected by exposure to different types of radiation sources. The thyroid gland is susceptible to radioactive iodine. In sufficient amounts, radioactive iodine can destroy all or part of the thyroid. By taking potassium iodide can reduce the effects of exposure.

Blood System - When a person is exposed to about 100 rems, blood's lymphocyte cell count will be reduced, leaving the victim more susceptible to infectionc and often refered to as mild radiation sickness. Early symptoms of sickness mimic those of flu and may go unnoticed unless blood count is done. According to data from Hiroshima and Nagaski, show that symptoms may persist for up to 10 years and may also have an increased long-term risk for leukemia and lymphoma. Heart - Intense exposure to radioactive material at 1,000 to 5,000 rems would do immediate damage to small blood vessels and probably cause heart failure and death directly.

Gastrointestinal Tract - Radiation damage to the intestinal tract lining will cause nausea, bloody vomiting and diarrhea. This is occurs when the victim's exposure is 200 rems or more. The radiation will begin to destroy the cells in the body that divide rapidly. These including blood, GI tract, reproductive and hair cells, and harms their DNA and RNA of surviving cells.

Reproductive Tract - Because reproductive tract cells divide rapidly, these areas of the body can be damaged at rem levels as low as 200. Long-term, some radiation sickness victims will become sterile.

Dose-rem	Effects
5-20	Possible late effects possible chromosomal damage.
20-100	Temporary reduction in white blood cells.
100-200	Mild radiation sickness within a few hours: vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue reduction in resistance to infection.
200-300	Serious radiation sickness effects as in 100-200 rem and hemorrhage exposure is a Lethal Dose to 10-35% of the population after 30 days (LD 10-35/30).
300-400	Serious radiation sickness also marrow and intestine destruction LD 50-70/30.
400-1000	Acute illness, early death LD 60-95/30.
1000-5000	Acute illness, early death in days LD 100/10.

Radiation that leaked from the Fukushima nuclear plant following last year's tsunami caused mutations in some butterflies — including dented eyes and stunted wings — though humans seem relatively unaffected, researchers say.The mutations are the first evidence that the radiation has caused genetic changes in living organisms. They are likely to add to concerns about potential health risks among humans though there is no evidence of it yet. Scientists say more study is needed to link human health with the Fukushima disaster.

TOKYO - Most of the radioactive fallout from the Fukushima disaster nuclear plant dropped into the ocean and began circling the planet, Japanese researchers said.

Up to 80% of the caesium released by the Fukushima Daiichi power plant landed in the Pacific and made its way into other oceans around the world, scientists at the Meteorological Research Institute said.

" The rest has fallen on land" in and around Fukushima, said Hiroshi Takahashi, a researcher at the institute in Ibaraki, northeast of Tokyo.

Mayor Yoshio Kusama of Takahagi, Ibaraki Prefecture, visited TEPCO's HQ in Tokyo.

Takahagi is about 80 kilometers from the plant. Kusama asked TEPCO's to pay 9.84 million yen (S$165,746) for decontamination work conducted from June to Oct and for d purchase of radiation dosimeters.

It's the city's 2nd such demand to TEPCO -- in June, it became one of the first municipalities to seek compensation from the utility, demanding 2.05 million yen.

" I'll keep making demands until work to deal with the nuclear crisis ends. I mean until there are no more costs [for the work]," Kusama told TEPCO Managing Director Naomi Hirose, who is deputy head of a task force to support people affected by the nuclear crisis.

" I'm telling you this while repressing [my anger] to one-tenth, one-hundredth of its true level," Kusama said.
