As a long term play, I think it is okay. Just that in the forseeable future, it may continue to suffer due to high raw material (coffee beans) prices. Another company that Sam Goei invested in is JB Foods, it sells cocoa mix. Also same fate, due to high raw material prices. If Super operates some coffee chain stores like Starbucks, it would have more ability to raise prices. I would keep a close eye on the corporate development. The fast track growth of selling ingredients has probably reached a plateu, where the more they sell, the less they make (or even run into losses). And it is not like there is a huge barrier to entry in making coffee mixes. |

Sigh I really thought it was low enough when i bought. I still believe its good as a longterm play, will cut only if i lose 10%.. Comments on super as a longterm play ? | ||||

The Capital Group holds almost 10% of SuperGroup. When the Capital Group starts selling, this one will have much more room to fall. Wait 2 to 3 years for coffee bean prices to come down, then can buy Super for the recovery. Now it is way too early. Plus there are a lot of new shares in the market after the 1 for 1 bonus issue. But fundamentally, the company' s business model is flawed. When the son took over the business from the father, it launched the " sell coffee mix ingredient" campaign. Instead of concentrating on building the Super Coffee brand, instead, it decided to make quick money by helping its competitors grow by selling them the cofee mix so that they can market their own brands. This way, it succeeded thoroughly in marginalising its own brand and grow competitors' brands. At the same time, it has little ability to raise prices of the coffee mix, whereas those who focused on marketing their brands can raise prices of the end products. It is like BreadTalk can raise price of its bread a lot more than flour makers can raise the price of flour. |

you hit it on the nail. I really missed Sino Grandnes when it was at 50ct. i bought China MinZhong instead. LOL In share investment there is the FA and TA part. FA tells you about the company and TA on the overall market mood on a particular stock. Totally agreed that Super can surprise with an upside earning report. I am not in Super cos busying looking at other counters. When earning is more visible i will relook the counter. At the moment i am in other F& B counters (F& N and Del Monte) so not much resources to pursue Super. So i am covered in this sector.

[DRAW REFERENCE] : Sino Grandness is traded at 3.9x FY14 PE, which is lower than its&rsquo peers of 25.4x. + can forsee strong price catalyst in near future. Share price does not relects its fair value. [SUPER]: Agreed with your post. However, shall Super announce for better earning, we might have missed the chance. I always look at chart and predict the entry and exit point...

The price reflect the current status of the companies. Need to show more earning visibility going forward. The market had chased up super to PE of 27. Now at 15 is more comparable to its peer. So so, $1.40 is about the price on a fair side. Do not foresee any strong price catalyst in the near future | ||||
