It' s stopped falling, two dojis over consecutive days. Need to be patient as the stock has declined over a period of time, and may continue to do so. If I were to buy, it would be on confirmed signs of recovery, eg when a white candle is followed by upward price movement toward the 20 MA, clear the 20 MA then it seems safer to buy. Now it' s still early. A more aggressive approach (and also riskier) is to buy when a hammer appears. |

It' s a difficult question to answer without looking at the biz of Genting Singapore. Exactly, what goes under it' s umbrella? That has to be the starting point if you look at the long term. Fundamentals will determine the share price of the future, unless we dig into the numbers, we will always hang onto a " hope" which is exactly the same as buying toto. I didn' t do a study of Genting Singapore so I can' t comment on the fundamentals. All I did was look at the technical analysis part, 100% TA. On the chart, the inverted hammer that appeared on 4th Sept 2014 is a good sign. Hammers appearing on a downturn is a sign of possible turnaround. If you look at the MACD, there is bullish divergence, another sign of a turnaround. Hence from a TA' s perspective, Genting SG looks ready to turn upwards. In summary, I have zero info on fundamentals. My entire analysis of Genting SG has been based on TA. My interest is as an onlooker, sharing my TA learnt from other experts in the subject and through a lot of reading up on my own.

Whole market is mostly down. Some stocks moved, eg Ezion and Ezra, surprised Ezra moved at all given it' s been like retreating all this while. Ezion is quite expected, but to gain 2 cents in a bad mkt speaks loud volumes. Buying support for Genting is frightening high at 1.21. Let' s see how it goes tomorrow. |

I omitted an impt thing. Co has a huge cash horde of almost 5bln. Debt at 1.7bln, it' s in the black where funding new activities are concerned. There' s a receivable of $1bln, but the overwhelming cash and investments balance is indication co is healthy and poised to do bigger things. Could be a good investment, need to monitor the price and have a good entry.

Fundamentals aside, just purely from a technical charting point of view, the share price is pointing towards 85-90 cents range. Just an observation. Not a call to buy or sell. |

Agreed!! Us gdp grew 4.2% which could very well slowly push blue chips further!

Have to see next week price movement. This week price seems to be settling and stabilising, just need a lift to push it back up. Could very well be a recovery stock, but I betted on SIA Engineering which has two white candles one of which has gone above 20MA. |

Love your analysis, however the loans are quite well managed guven that the management has set a standard for the current ratio and does not cross it After some reading, i agree very much that the resort casino market is tough given that there are alrd anchor players in jeju, with a market of 5bil+ sgd market in jeju solely(frm jeju tourism site). At the same time, i believe tourism worldwide is rising abt 5% /yr? And jeju does not have many casinos? Locally, i believe genting will recover, but we have to monitor ebola too! Cheers |
