It is really disappointing on how the irregular nature of the sbb is being conducted at the current severely declining share prices in just a very short period of ~2 weeks.  TR disposal could be due to that they cannot tahan the price kena stuck too long at 0.4+ with a very obvious sub par sbb execution not going anywhere. If this is indeed the case, then YFH is going into a very cold and chilling winter as TR has a total of 269mil shares to dispose, that is, 72mil more to first bring its holding below its SSH 5% level, then a further 197mil which TR could sell without notifying SGX. Uncle Ren need to lobby TR to hold back on its further disposal and Toe seriously need to step up his sbb execution with more productive and meaningful impacts. Whether TR is just rebalancing its holding, or indeed exiting, we will know in the days ahead to see if there are more announcement on further disposals. I really hope not .... The way the sbb is currently being handled when the share price is coming under severe distressed with no news, is like .... giving Toe a T5 Swedish made Volvo with 300bhp but he knn drives it like a Msian made 800cc Kancil .... speechless ...

Investors prefer a share buyback strategy that is sustained  over a period of time to effectively signal to the market that their shares are undervalued. Vested. The lower the share price, the better the indicative yield on the stock (with the premise that they are able to deliver similar EPS as last FY and > 40% payout ratio. As is currently, it is c.8.5% yield though conscious that this is a rising rates environment where we' ve seen investment banks recently issuing 5-year callable perps at > 9% coupon. Prob more insti selling as seen with T Rowe Price divesting 8.58M shares at 43c last Fri (as announced ytd) where they reduced their stake from 7.05% to 6.83%.
