Given the era of trade war, Singapore as an entrepô t hub is under threat. We might enjoy the lowest baseline tariffs, but high tariffs on sub-sector like semiconductor and pharmaceutical exports is the most concerning. Both exports contribute a significant portion of our manufacturing output. It's giving out 3.91cts interim dividend this evening. Interim dividends for 2024, 2023, 2022 & 2021 were 3.52cts, 2.9cts, 2.85cts (exclude special dividend) & 2.1cts respectively. The dividend hike is made possible with its business expansion abroad. This is far more impt than the daily price wiggles which is all sound & fury signifying nothing. | ||||
