I wonder who are those clowns who bought those shares when it is so obvious that this is the game played by shortists? If there is no buyers, shortists would get stuck holding the shares they bought, right? As the saying goes, the stock market is a game of greater fools for stocks like Seatrium. |

$100m of SBB is hardly significant as market cap is more than $5bn. If market cap is $2bn then it is useful.

If naked short not buying back within same day, T+3, day 3 at 1pm... trading housing will auto buy back for you at any price in the market.
Remember the buyer from short needs to receive his or her stock after T+3 hehe.

Well, n3wbie, with a share buyback mandate in place and an execution of it, there could be greater buybacks in the future. As cash is generated, I am confident Seatrium will pare down its debt as it did in the past to become net cash positive and then, the distribution of fat dividends. That will take a few years. Meanwhile, Seatrium can optimise its capital structure by ensuring a good balance of equity and debt. It recently took the positive steps of paying back its debt early and initiating an SBB. I think that it is moving in the right direction, in my honest and humble view. Am vested for the foreseeable future.

Tbh, would rather they buy back sufficient shares for the share options so that they are not having to dilute shareholders unnecessarily and buying shares on the cheap to give to directors and management. Would rather they spend the money more wisely to deleverage the higher interest bearing debt (which they have been doing so that is positive) and when the business turned around and is sustainable on its own, start paying dividends. Dont think 1-2m sbb a day and with a total amount of just $100m, it is really going to move the needle. Just my humble view on it

Maybe they think price is still high and will continue to slide down.. if buyback price is higher than mkt price, it will be difficult to sell to staff as staff options 😞 😞
