Yesterday' s vol was 60mln shares, at this point in the morning, already 40mln shares transacted. Unusual activity for this stock which has been moving sideways for the longest time since the jump in price in March this year. Acohol is actually recession proof I think. |

Looking at the chart and the way the stock is being bought up, there is a chance of a breakout from a wedge formation. Could be wrong about the price upside. Volumes in past days and today indicates a strong breakout.

News on better Thai situation probably helped. It' s a good co, and great to have in portfolio. Scalability is an issue, eg need to market Thai whsiky to non Thais. Those are the issues that will come back to haunt the co year after year. |

Just did a check on Poems analytics, ThaiBev has an ROE of above 20% (not many cos make it this high), good liquidity (current ratio 1.74), and virtually debt free (zero Debt/equity)based on 2013 financials (don know what they are now). This makes it a good stock to hold in times of trouble as the co is a survivor and don' t depend on debt to carry on it' s biz. The P/E is about 21, not great value from a entry price perspective. Growth is not exciting, I' d wait till many drink Chang beer before buying as sales growth is a little sluggish for my personal liking, though I like this kind of co. with high profitability and low debt. Not so familiar with how F& N will affect bottomline, shareholders need to check on this.

The figures (forecasted for F14 and 15) show a recovery from poor 2013 results, but nevertheless weak when compared against 2012. Eg Eps dropped from 1.13 t o 0.76 in 2013 (half?), by 2015 it is forecasted to reach 0.86 (not yet fully recovered). If the assumptions (Forecast 14 and 15) are accurate, the upside potential for the stock seems limited.

I thought DBSS' TP has been 60c for smee time already. Anyway, a lot of times, shares do not reach their TP within the horizon stipulated. Eg, DBSS' TP for Sembmarine has been 4.80 for a long time. But look at the pathetic company and share price performance for more than 7 mths now, it has hardly ever touched 4.15. |

This counter seem to have the volume but cannot break thru the 1.63 barrier for many days... Thailand situation has improved and everyone is back to the streets, hope that will bring growth to the revenue...
