For the case of mermaid, we do not know if high order book will eventually translate to strong profit.. i had invested in vallianz many years ago due to their increasing order intake & middle east support.. but eventually their profit doesnt increase and couldnt match the expectation due to their willingness to take in high order with low margins, and i cut my losses back then, and it taught me the importance of not just relying on order book figures.. middle east is a bunch of cost cutting scrooge.. u wont be able to make much money working with them.. just look at them at the political side on how cunning they are.. back then in 2014, the saudi refuse to cut oil price due to political reasons between US & russia, and oil price crash.. after that they are able to buy lots of assets/vessels/chartering at a very cheap rate.. when they are done buying cheap assets, they cut oil supply and want to push oil price back up, so that they can list their saudi aramco.

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	Have to let the shorts come in first . They might have to buy back higher intra day . All in , it?s good news that they secured usd$362mil worth of new contracts . Yes maybe the rates abit off but definitely still profit for mermaid otherwise why would they want to sign the contracts ? The cash secured in the contracts will come in handy . Plus management already said they will be cutting cost with prudent cost management so the company future for the next 3-5 years are secured . They are at least in a better position than not having contracts at all.

The rest kaput because they don?t have the middle eastern bosses to keep them alive . Which is why mermaid is also a prime target for takeover .
