the reverse can be very true...know of someone (a Msian - and there' s plenty others too i' m sure) bot a Spore condo when the exchange rate was 1sgd to 1.7myr about 20 yrs ago before the Asian financial crisis.  Now that ppty has doubled in market value, not to mention it could likely fetch a much higher value if the ppty went enbloc.  Together with current xchange rate, his gain would be like 4 times his original investment!

1) Different individuals have different needs and wants in different periods of their lives. 2) The more moolahs one has, the more options he has when his needs and wants start to evolve as he ages.   |

The main difference between S' pore and M' sia property is land scarcity. In S' pore, supply of land is limited, compounded by the growing population. In M' sia, as Long as a project sells, you can be assured that Developers will quickly clear the land to build more, phase 2, phase 3, 4, 5...... Until the supply meets the demand. There' s a price equilibrium. So, how to profit as a " investor" ?

there are a few selected spots where the returns might be good... the rest are the shit... so you need to really understand the future prospects wisely... how do you know? the best is you get to know some datuks with political power or influence and they can tell you which area the government is going to develop, then you can buy that area.. do not ever hear from any auntie or uncle or any property agent who claims to have tips... malaysia is full of LAND... and do not ever expect it to become like singapore... even johor is the same

I bought one shop house in KL, didn't lease yet after obtaining key for almost a year now, reason is that the yield is incredibly low....and i bought it when the exhange was at 2.4 and paid all in s$ 😢 .
Can't sell now as there is hefty tax imposed .... sigh

Yes - 40 is now press the panic button age. Either make your moolah and climb the ladder by then - or make backup plans for elsewhere.

Any international bank that has an operating license in Malaysia could face legal action if it facilitates ringgit futures trading on the Singapore Stock Exchange and the Intercontinental Exchange, Malaysia' s central bank governor said on Friday. http://www.businesstimes.com.sg/government-economy/malaysia-central-bank-says-will-act-on-international-banks-trading-ringgit-in LOL!!! They gonna sue OCBC and DBS?

Taking loan in malaysia. It is easy as i have a biz partnership in johor (logistics biz)
What makes me do it few years back was the price of 1 shophse in Chinatown they asking for about $12 mil. How to afford ? Those who made it are those who invested in the 70s 80s 90s oe early 2000s. Missed the chance. So now treating johor like Spore on the 70s.
