Guys, Microsoft is ending support for Windows 10 in Oct 2025. If your PC is running on a licenced copy of Windows 10 and your PC was purchased in Aug 2017 or later, most likely the processor in your PC is an 8th generation CPU. To check, go to SYSTEM and scroll to the bottom and select ABOUT on the left hand pane. It will show you the name of your processor followed by a series of numbers. If the first digit of that number is 1 to 7, it means your processor is from the 1st to 7th generation of processors.  If your PC is already running on Windows 10, you can get a free upgrade to Windows 11 provided your PC passes the hardware compatibility test. If your PC was purchased in Aug 2017 or later, most likely it will pass. Then installing Windows 11 is easy. You will see pop ups on your screen from Microsoft prompting you to upgrade to Windows 11. Just click on it and you are good to go. Microsoft will do the rest. But if your PC was purchased prior to Aug 2017, you may have a hardware compatibility issue. Then you are unable to upgrade to Windows 11 the conventional way which is easy and convenient. But fret not. Becoz people all over the world have been finding ways to get around the hardware compatibility issue and forced installed Windows 11 into an older PC successfully, Microsoft has decided to offer a way out to owners of older PCs. All you need to do is to download a software directly from Microsoft' s website into your older PC and run it to install Windows 11. If you watch Youtube videos on this subject, you will find tons of videos teaching you how to do this. Most of these videos use a method which requires you to download a 3rd party tool. Others require you to access the Registry of your PC to key in multiple Command Prompts to do the installation. When I watched the methods taught by these videos, I was overwhelmed. And damn pissed as well. But I persevered and continued to watch more videos and Lo and Behold I found this video which is by far the simplest to understand and follow and requires the least number of steps and things to do to perform the Windows 11 installation on an unsupported older PC. What I did was I used one laptop to play the Youtube video. Then right next to that laptop, I placed the laptop which I wanted to install Windows 11. I let the video play and I followed each and every step back-to-back to install Windows 11. And it worked !!! Seamlessly !!! I have 3 laptops bought prior to Aug 2017. The processors on 2 of these laptops are of the 7th generation series and 1 is a 6th generation series. All 3 laptops are working perfectly fine and it is such a waste to ditch them. Now that I have found a way to install Windows 11 into them, my problem is solved. No need to spend money to buy a new laptop. And no need to waste my 3 laptops. If you guys are wondering why I have 3 laptops, one for communicating with you guys and for my trading platforms with IG, Tiger and FSM. A 2nd laptop to monitor Live 2-Minute Chart realtime for Dow Futures and a 3rd laptop to monitor live feed of Dow Futures intraday movement during trading hours. That way, I dont have to toggle from one tab to another. I just have to turn my head left or right to know what Dow Futures is doing realtime during trading hours. It helps to have more screens. A lot. If you dont upgrade to Windows 11, you can still continue to use Windows 10 but do note that becoz Microsoft will stop supporting it, you wont be receiving any more security patches to fix vulnerabilities in the Operating System. This will render your computer more vulnerable to hacking and identity theft. Which means it wont be safe for you to use your computer for online banking or for online transactions where your credit card details can be stolen and exploited. This was what prompted me to look for a solution. I had planned to buy a new laptop which will come pre-loaded with Windows 11. But this is not my preferred solution. My preferred solution is to be able to keep and use my 3 older laptops. But I had to find a way to install Windows 11 into them. If 2 years ago, we bought banks, ST Engrg and SGX, today we will be happily counting money. Capital gains from these 3 stocks over the last 2 years was a pile of gold coins.  But if buy REITs, then no capital gains to count. Only dividends to count. But if buy Wilmar at the highs during her China IPO hype where she crossed $5.50, then today die pain pain. She is now at 3.06 .

US 10 year yieilds are at 4.59%. spiked up and getting dangerous. So, Ms Ascendas has become modest at 2.58 and all covered up. Otherwise, she would have been flaunting herself in the 270s. | ||||

I was also quite pleasantly surprised by Cold Storsge offering half priced whole cooked chicken for SGD 3.45 after 6pm to clear stock. Otherwise will throw away.
Just managed to feed a family of 7 enuff meat with half chicken left over for lunch tmr! Divine Providence

 Ever since I was liberated from the burden of car ownership, COE premiums dont bother me anymore. Petrol prices dont bother me anymore. Only the maximum bus/train fare per journey within 2 hours for seniors affect me. Even then, any increase is negligible and wont affect my bottomline. When I first started taking public transport, the maximum fare for seniors was 99 cts. It has since been increased by 4 cts to $1.03. Sub Sub Soy. Wont miss a heartbeat over it. Public transport fare increase is not so much a concern for seniors in Spore. Becoz each increase is anything from 3 to 6 cts thereabout and an increase comes about once every 3 to 5 years. What concerns seniors who are living on their savings is the cost of food. Something which used to cost $3.00 pre-pandemic now cost $4.00. That' s a 33.33% increase. It is substantial. And when it further increased from $4.00 to $4.50, that' s a 50% increase from the original price of just $3.00. For retirees, inflation has reduced the value of their savings by half. That is cause for concern. Which is why for those of us who are blessed with additional capital to invest to help deal with inflation, it is something to be grateful for and to give thanks for. In theory, inflation is projected to reduce the value of our money by 3% each year. But the reality is over the last 5 years from 2020 to 2025, the disruption to supply chains caused by the pandemic as well as by the Russian-Ukraine war and stupid Trump' s tariffs has resulted in a loss of purchasing power of more than 3% per year over the last 5 years. More like double to triple of that in fact. Pre-pandemic, a sum of $90 could buy 30 bowls of fishball noodles. Today, the same amount can buy only 22 bowls. That loss of 8 bowls represents a loss of purchasing power of 26.66%. That' s not 3% per year over 5 years. One expert had said in 2021 that price increases which is supposed to happen over the next 20 years will now all happen within the next 5 years. He turns out to be right. Most stalls in my neighbourhood have increased their prices twice between 2020 and 2025. Some stalls increased their prices thrice. For this reason, CDC vouchers are here to stay. People have come to expect it. For those who are doing okay, CDC vouchers are a treat. You get to buy more stuffs or the better stuffs with Ah Kong' s money. But for retirees and low income families, CDC vouchers are a welcomed relief. These vouchers help a lot. |

Pizza Hut also have $5 personal pan pizza. Seriously, I dont understand why pizzas need to be so expensive. Its just a crust made from flour and some inexpensive toppings. But the price of a regular pizza is the same for a serving of BBQ Pork Ribs with 2 sides OR 2 Zichar dishes with rice which simply doesnt make any sense. If you spend that same amount in a hawker centre, you can get 1 main + 1 side + 10 sticks of satay with ketupat. So why spend it on just one miserable pizza? If only our Indian comrades know how to capitalize on this by coming up with a prata which has a thicker crust. Top it up with scrambled eggs, cheese, chicken, sardine, sausage, onions, tomatoes, green and red and orange peppers and offer it as a cheaper and more delicious alternative to over-rated and expensive pizzas. Force pizza sellers to cut their unreasonable margins and offer their pizzas at lower prices or close shop. Another option for pizza lovers is to buy frozen pizzas from supermarkets and experiment with them by adding cheese and other toppings of your choice to come up with a version which is good enough for you and at much lower prices than those charged by Pizza Hut, Dominoes etc. By the way, the standard at Pizza Hut has dropped by a lot a lot. Making their high prices lagi even not worth to pay.
