Acquiring other coal mines will not be too good for business sense unless they go for high end gold mines. So going private at a suitable pricing will be a good choice. Of course, the condition is they must not depend on bank loans. If Geo is prudent with their large yearly profits, they can easily sustain their financial requirements and come out ahead. Their present cash hoard currently guarantees their financial independence.
