Bursa Construction Companies Post Reply Rate topic

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	The past 12 years were very challenging ones for the Busa Malaysia construction companies. The following chart is taken from my article Making sense of the Bursa Malaysia construction sector. It shows the ROE trends for the Bursa construction companies.   You should not be surprised to see the sector ROE declining.  The sector mean revenue only grew at 1.1 % CAGR. The sector mean PAT declined at a compounded 3.8 % per annum.  You can see that in the first half of the decade, the sector mean ROE for many years can be considered to be comparable to that of 2010.   But thereafter it began to decline so by 2019 (before the pandemic) it was already lower than that in 2010. Of course, the pandemic caused it to go into negative territory in 2020 and 2021. But the Malaysian property companies are already performing much better than the pandemic year. I would expect the Bursa construction companies performance to improve as well. Maybe it is time to start hunting for companies in this sector to invest in. &zwnj
