In a report released on Wednesday, analyst Ong Khang Chuen pinned a target price of $1.40 on the stock, representing a massive 73.9 per cent upside on its last closing price of 80.5 cents on Wednesday. He noted that Boustead' s second-half 2023 core profit after tax and minority interest (Patmi) grew 35 per cent year on year to $18 million, helped by stronger performance in its energy engineering and real estate segments, while the geospatial technology segment saw stable earnings despite forex headwinds. " Excluding exceptional items (one-off disposal gain, forex impact, etc), financial year 2023 core Patmi of $32 million was a slight miss versus our forecast of $35 million, mainly due to higher-than-expected start-up losses for its new Bideford Road property (which is under real estate segment)." the report said. In May, Boustead Singapore reported a 145 per cent increase in net profit for its second half, driven by higher revenue, interest income and other gains. Net profit for the six months ended March 31 rose to $22.7 million, from $9.3 million in the year-ago period. |

FY2023 Highlights: Overall revenue for FY2023 was 16% lower year-on-year at S$284.0 million, attributable to lower revenue contributions from the Engineering & Construction (&ldquo E& C&rdquo ) Business in 1H FY2023 and lower revenue contributions from the Real Estate Business. Total profit for FY2023 was 63% higher year-on-year at S$18.5 million, mainly attributable to higher gross profit, other income, a one-off gain on disposal of a subsidiary of S$8.3 million and lower overhead expenses, partially offset by a share of loss of associates and joint ventures, higher finance expenses and higher income tax expense. At the end of FY2023, Boustead Projects Group (&ldquo BP Group&rdquo )&rsquo s financial position remained healthy, with cash and cash equivalents of S$177.7 million and total equity of S$401.0 million. The BP Group&rsquo s current order backlog (unrecognised project revenue remaining at the end of FY2023 plus the total value of new orders secured since then) stands at a healthy level of approximately S$402 million.     Como Group builds first hotel in Singapore, to open by second half of 2023 https://www.straitstimes.com/business/como-group-builds-first-hotel-in-singapore-to-open-by-second-half-of-2023   SINGAPORE - Home-grown Como Group will open its first Singapore hotel later in 2023 just off Orchard Road.   The lifestyle group created by luxury fashion retail doyenne Christina Ong will transform 30 Bideford Road, a mixed-use development on the site of the former Thong Sia Building, into the Como Metropolitan Singapore hotel and lifestyle space.   To be called Como Orchard, the 19-storey building will also house a multi-label fashion store, a new wellness space and gourmet concepts by Michelin-starred restaurant chefs, said a Como Group spokesman, adding that negotiations with partners are ongoing.   Como Orchard will be operated through a commercial lease from Bideford House, a subsidiary of Singapore-listed real estate company Boustead Projects.   The group&rsquo s Como Hotels and Resorts also operates 16 properties worldwide, including Como Metropolitan London and resorts such as Como Point Yamu in Phuket and Como Maalifushi in the Maldives.   Hotel owners are jostling to capture demand now that tourists and corporate travellers are returning to Singapore after the past years of pandemic restrictions hurt business.   The old Hilton Singapore at 581 Orchard Road is now voco Orchard Singapore, a new brand by IHG Hotels & Resorts, while the Mandarin Orchard Singapore at 333 reopened early in 2022 as Hilton Singapore Orchard.   Accor&rsquo s Pullman Singapore Orchard opened on Dec 1 at the site of the former Grand Park Orchard at 270 Orchard Road, while Vibe Hotel Singapore Orchard, an Australian brand operated by local hospitality management company Far East Hospitality, launched on Nov 3.

CLSA has been selling down Boustead shares. Everytime I bought, the seller CLSA will mark it down . Dont know why the hell they are doing it. Maybe another M& A deal , this time involving privatising BSL itself coming? | ||

Boustead Projects must restore free float, or make &lsquo fair and reasonable&rsquo exit offer: SGX Regco
 
THE Singapore Exchange Regulation (SGX Regco) said on Wednesday (Mar 22) that Boustead Projects : AVM 0% must restore its free float after its shares are suspended at the close of the takeover offer by its parent company Boustead Singapore : F9D +0.59%.
 
Otherwise, Boustead Projects would be directed to delist and provide an exit offer which is deemed fair and reasonable by an independent financial adviser, said the regulatory arm of Singapore&rsquo s bourse operator in the filing.
 
As at 6pm on Mar 21, Boustead Singapore had acquired 92.5 per cent of Boustead Project&rsquo s shares.
 
This leaves the public owning only about 7.5 per cent of shares. Under SGX&rsquo s free-float requirement, an issuer must ensure that at least 10 per cent of the total number of issued shares are held by the public.
 
Boustead Singapore&rsquo s offer closes on Monday (Mar 27).
 
The engineering services provider had announced on Feb 7 that it intended to privatise and delist its real estate subsidiary by buying over the company.

They will try to grow slowly but not big big. After all, they are a relatively small company with prudent bosses. Vitnam is one growth area. Got to be super patient with this company. The near term growth engine will be the design, build and construction.

I believe Boustead will grow the property fund management big big.  And when interest rates start falling later this year, it will plan a reit listing. Boustead will retain the property management arm, while spinning off the reit. Then will distribute the reit in-specie to Boustead shareholders. Just like what it did with Boustead Projects   |
