Given the broad rerating across the small mid caps, its now harder to find one of these! And most times its too late when market starts talking about it...

very rare indeed. are there other such companies on sgx?

Any followers of this sleepy stock? One of the few on SGX that trades below its net cash value. Market cap at $23m while net cash and cash equivalents (holding financial instruments) are at $34m. Operating business is profitable and free cash flow positive. Pays a consistent div of 0.5c which gives it about 3.6% div yield. Trying to get a sense if this is a value trap or value to be unlocked. Any views most appreciated, thanks.

Been trying to add around 18c. Not much interest in this counter, has to break 20-22c decisively with volume. Then it could head up to 30.

Last " drop" of oil in SGX.
Profitable company.
Strong cash on hand.
On watch for trading volume to come in.

AP Oil on the verge of turnaround. One of its subsidiaries is direct manufacturer of disinfectants, detergents and hand sanitizers. CNA 9.38 says such companies are seeing a swell in demand of 400%. Company is cash rich and paying 0.75 ordinary dividend which translates to 4.3% dividend yield. Do own due diligence.

Testing last high of $0.275, it is interesting to see how it goes from here. There is some strength on the chart as shown in the MACD line lying above the centreline. RSI is rising but still below 70.

interestingly, the FY16 results reflected that the total dividends for the year was 1.25c. thanks for the clarification.

this year dividend SGD0.0075 vs share price 26c is only 2.88%  and past 4 years only SGD0.005.
EPS was 2c+ and past 4 years > 2.5c only pay out 0.5c (payout ratio 20%)

how u get 4.7% yield?

Cash for past 5 years grew from 20m to 38m now, almost no debt vs Mcap almost 42.78m. so little dividend and no SBB or bonus dividend.
Now boss pass to next gen maybe better loh, but probably " chip off the old block." Very likely wait they are waiting until next crash share price dip back 20c then they offer 25c privatise ROFL.

management attributes about half of their salary to profit sharing (which I see as aligning interests to the Group and MI). speaking of which, I do not think that it is an exorbitant amount that management is paying themselves. top 3 directors are around $400-600k, like I said half of that is based on profit sharing.

CEO is responsible for strategic planning and day-to-day while Mr Chang is focusing on BD. don' t really think that their remuneration package is a red flag. a classic case of value trap would only apply if they never even pay dividends but at 4.7% yield, that don' t seem overly pathetic in my humble opinion. certainly not the highest paying among the small-mid caps but certainly not low. on top of that, quite an well-oiled machine that has a cash cow business.

this one is classic you need to learn yourself.

go look at 10 year earnings, then compare the dividend payout.
Also look at how much the mgt. get paid every year and compare to other similar small cap.

another classic is HongFok.

good cases for learning about mgt. attitude to OPMI

Haha welcome to the classic value trap.

Look deeper and you will see the real story aside from valutions

seems like quite a gem and really nothing much to lose at present valuations.

currently trading at 0.7x PB but market cap is presently at abou $42m (net cash position is $38+m with no debt) operating cash flow positive for the last 8 years and profitable despite oil price crash over the last two years. so essentially you are pretty much buying into their cash now and getting the profitable business and its assets for free.

large margin of safety really. of which, they have been paying out dividends since 2010 (yield as of last year was about 4.7%).
