What are gold proxies

A gold proxy is one where the stock price moves in tandem with gold prices. With this as the definition, I wanted to know whether there were Busa Malaysia gold proxies by comparing stock price movements with gold prices. The chart below shows the comparison over several years.



The conclusion is that there is not much correlation.  Moral of story - better to buy gold and Bursa gold stocks.
