Thank you for sharing, hope his $150-160m core profit estimate is eventually found to be too conservative and the company outperforms, agree with him that valuations at 17-18x Forward P/E is not attractive. DBS analyst does not adopt a P/E based approach but a blend between EV/EBITDA (5.3x) and P/B (1.25x), both of which represent -1SD level from the 10-year mean to arrive at $1.85. It does not look like the stock will trade higher over the next few months. Next data point will be full year FY22 results in February, hoping for a bumper dividend announcement and perhaps improved 4Q22 numbers vs 3Q22.

The biggest headline of the month was FTX bankruptcy. The spectacular failure of FTX had all the making of a Hollywood blockbuster. SBF came from been a hero to zero in a mere 3 years. The once 32b business managed to pull wool over some of the biggest investors in the world including our SWF. The ?bank man got fried? investing in the company. Billions were loss. Many people loss their saving.

It had been a while since I felt the butterflies in my stomach. There are plenty of mixed emotions at play. I would be lying if I told you I am not chuffed by the recent falling market. Finally value had arrived for a proper bargain hunt. On the other hand, it felt like déjà vu, the ghost of GFC had returned.

Public transport is a SERVICE, not a Business. If it is a business, it is a big loss business with the gov absorbing all the losses. If the contractors operating the service is paying dividends, it is only because the gov pays extras to enable it to.
What is the NAV of SBS? What determine its share price? Is this 'business' its own? Why must it be public listed? Where does the dividend money come from?
Do you have the answers Governor?

Short commentary, sbs transit result is an improvement from first quarter down 33.5% to down 5% in 1H22 with only two full months factor in after reopening.

SBS transit 5% drop in earnings compared to last year. So Comfortdelgro may not be having good profit.
Bro, not everything in Singapore you can make easy $$$. Besides the Metaverse wave sweeping across the Western World and Singapore, our gov had announced that Singapore is going to build the World's first ever under ground under sea city. You as governor sure you know. I estimate that perhaps half of our population will live in this new city where eveything one needs in his/her life time (hospital, residence, learning, leisue, work, nursing care, funeral setvices) will be in close proximity.
What is the demand of land transport in this under ground/sea city??? ZERO!!!🤯

Happy Birthday to my beloved country, Singapore, a place where I call home. If Singapore was a listed company which could be bought and sold like any other securities on the stock exchange. The ?Singapore stock? would have made you close to 158x return in 57 years. Singapore GDP per capita started at a mere USD $500 in 1965 had risen to USD 79k by end of 2021.

Sell away in May and go away in June. The market jingle had its way after all. For the past two months if you had flown out to another country, away from the stock market for a well deserved holiday, you would had easily save 15% on your investment capital. The market had gone Gaga, no amount of ?hold my hand? can calm the market jitters. The closest thing of me taking to the sky was a trip to the cinema for a Top Gun sequence.
