This is a hideous stock !!!!!
IPO at HKD 3.88 on 14 Nov 2017.
Touched it' s all-time High HKD 5.49 on IPO Day and then spirallled down all the way to HKD 0.89 on 3 Apr 2020.
Has been losing tons of money every Qtr since it existed.
Last Qtr managed to report a moleular-sized positive " profit" despite touting the past 2 years of covid had been good for it' s sales due to WFH.

Razer executives plan to value firm at up to HK$35b in take-private deal -sources

16 Nov 2021 13:01

[HONG KONG] A consortium led by Razer Inc' s top executives is planning to value the Hong Kong-listed gaming hardware maker at up to HK$35 billion (S$6.1 billion) in a deal to take it private, two people with direct knowledge of the matter said.

Chairman Min-Liang Tan and non-executive director Kaling Lim, with a combined stake of nearly 60 per cent in Razer, are leading a group to offer up to HK$4 per share for the deal, the people said. That is almost double Razer' s average share price of HK$2.10 over the past month.

Sim Wong Hoo has stayed true to his original business vision for sound.

Now is not to late to add vision, and gaming and computer peripherals to the mix. It will have a larger eco-system.

Razer even has a very successful gaming laptop. Whats stopping Creative from doing any of the above? Nothing, except the will.

Singaporean-founded gaming company Razer has acquired a majority stake in an American audio-visual company founded by Star Wars creator George Lucas. The move to buy California-based THX for an undisclosed sum will increase Razer' s presence in movies and music.

While Razer, which is based in the United States, is known primarily for its gaming hardware such as keyboards, laptops and mice, the acquisition will give it access to THX' s 30 years of intellectual property in audio-visual equipment.

Razer said yesterday that THX will continue to operate as an independent company with its own management and employees from its Californian headquarters.

Razer co-founder and chief executive Tan Min-Liang told The Straits Times: " We want to be one of the world' s biggest entertainment companies, so it' s not just gaming, but movies and music too.

" It' s a convergence that we' re seeing, and as things are converging, we want to be there too."

THX, which was founded in 1983 by Mr Lucas, provides a quality assurance standard for sound reproduction in theatres. A THX-certified sound system would play back audio the way it sounds in the mixing studio.
Mr Tan said in the short term, the acquisition will allow Razer to use THX technology to ramp up its audio line, such as gaming headsets.

But while the acquisition marks Razer' s move into the entertainment industry, Mr Tan said the company will not produce content.

" We don' t do content, but we are the enablers of technology," he said.

" Razer today for gamers is the layer between the game and the gamer. In the future, with the acquisition of THX and the move into a broader spectrum, we want to be that company between entertainment content and the entertained."

The majority of the shares in THX were held by a group of investors, including a private equity fund and Disney, the parent company of Lucasfilm, before the deal closed earlier this month.

This is not the first time THX will have had links with Singapore. In 2002, home-grown audio company Creative Technology reportedly took a 60 per cent majority stake in THX for US$8 million (S$11 million). It holds a minor stake in the company today.

THX chief executive Ty Ahmad-Taylor said: " With Razer, we can now continue to push into uncharted territory while delivering excellence to our customers' ever-changing needs.

" As a standalone company, THX will work closely with Razer, but will also continue to service our partners in the industry."

We need more Creative haters to tell the boss how to improve the business.

More negative views here would be beneficial to the future development of the company

Currently, Creative have been clearing out some old products. If you look thru the website, many older model speakers are gone.

Some winners are Creative Pebble V2 and V3, with Bluetooth 5.0

They need to also add a wireless subwoofer to make it even better.

People are willing to pay. Dont let Logitech and JBL win most of the sales. I paid thru my nose to buy little toys like JBL Charge 3 & 4.

The Creative Stage soundbar with subwoofer are also very cheap and good, as I have been using it for 2 years, Flawless and gets the job done.

If they are able to boost sales thru better marketing and channels, they will make a lot more sales.

And don' t forget, Sight and Sound go hand in hand. Creative should also venture out into graphics. Think that will be awesome.

Tested with our ears, when Creative shoot up to around 10 with " mind blowing" product.
After testing, my friends, customers and our ears told us that' s shit product.
Either something is wrong somewhere.
In US, the " mind blowing" product unable to stir even a small ripple, so what do you all expect.
Still in the well, shouting " mind blowing, mind blowing" ??
For iphone, it is power efficient, responsive and easy to use.
But on " security"   and others (countries interest) not so good, but non-developers and simple minded ppls simply don' t care.
