Panama annulled key port contracts held by a subsidiary of Hong Kong-based CK Hutchison in its official gazette Monday, transferring interim operations of the ports to Danish shipping giants A.P. Moller-Maersk and Swiss-based Mediterranean Shipping Co.
The notice formalized a Supreme Court ruling last month that the concessions for the Balboa and Cristobal terminals near the Panama Canal, which Panama Port Company (PPC), a subsidiary of CK Hutchison, had held for more than two decades, were unconstitutional.

Shenzhen government acquires portion of Hutchison Port Holdings&rsquo land for 15.6 million yuan
The 7,775 sq m acquisition is for rail link development

[SINGAPORE] The trustee-manager of   Hutchison Port Holdings Trust   : NS8U +2.44% (HPH) on Friday (Dec 12) said that land currently held by one of its subsidiaries will be acquired by the Chinese government for 15.6 million yuan (S$2.9 million).

About 7,775 square metres of land in Shenzhen owned by Yantian International Container Terminals (YICT) will be expropriated by the municipal government.

YICT is 56.4 per cent owned by HPH. Shenzhen Yantian Port Group also has a stake in the joint venture (JV).

The sum of 15.6 million yuan is the government&rsquo s compensation to YICT, which is not using the land for any operational purposes.

The development follows the government&rsquo s expropriation in July 2024 of land along the Pingyan railway, between the Pinghu South and Yantian Port stations.

That land was previously under YICT and Shenzhen Pingyan Multimodal Company (SPMC), a JV 51.6 per cent owned by HPH.

YICT received 12.7 million yuan in compensation for the land and SPMC, 362.4 million yuan.

The expropriations are part of a land-sea corridor and rail link development under China&rsquo s 14th Five-Year Plan, announced in 2021. These plans are national initiatives for socioeconomic development.
may go beyond 0.28 once Trump / Xi meeting is successful on the trade compromise tomorrow, hold your horses
Moving so slowly
Finally $0.215 wall cleared.
Inching up, very slowly, slower than a worm, but surely. TQ

PARIS, July 29 (Reuters) - French shipping giant CMA CGM said on Tuesday it is interested in taking over some of CK Hutchison (0001.HK), opens new tab's ports after the Hong Kong conglomerate's exclusive talks ended with a consortium led by BlackRock this week.
CK Hutchison agreed in March to sell the majority of its $22.8 billion global ports business to the consortium also including Italian billionaire Gianluigi Aponte's family-run shipping company MSC, but the exclusive talks expired on Sunday.
Gaining a stake in CK Hutchison's 43 terminals in 23 countries included in the preliminary deal would offer CMA CGM greater control over the supply chain, especially if it can get hold of one of the ports along the Panama Canal.
"It's very important for the industry, and it's important for us as a major player in this sector," CMA CGM Chief Financial Officer Ramon Fernandez told reporters during the presentation of the company's second quarter results.

Cosco Shipping.
There are the HK listed entity. And SGX listed entity. Different biz.
Name similar, but different.
If there is any new investor for the port deal, and Cosco. Then it is highly likely the HK listed entity.
