1 of the very rare ipos which was underwritten by DBS that has gone underwater so badly,
perhaps its the biz itself that offers bleak future,
moreover the cessation of stabilising action also contribute to the free fall of its sp.

Look like more suitable for SHORTIST 😮 😮

Sad ending for WeWorks but hopefully our SG version can have a better outcome given backing by GIC, Frasers, etc. Stabilisation looks almost done and that hasnt been able to prop it anywhere close to IPO price...

Guess the stock continues to find new low?
An IPO benefits both SGX and the listing company: SGX gains market depth, visibility, and fee income, while the company secures capital, credibility, and liquidity. In Singapore, IPOs are tightly regulated by MAS and SGX, ensuring transparency and investor confidence.
📊 Benefits to SGX
- Market Growth & Depth: Each IPO expands the pool of listed companies, strengthening SGX&rsquo s role as a regional capital hub.
- Increased Trading Activity: New listings attract investor interest, boosting liquidity and turnover.
- Fee Income: SGX earns from listing fees, trading commissions, and ongoing compliance charges.
- Global Reputation: Successful IPOs enhance SGX&rsquo s standing as a trusted exchange in Asia, drawing more international issuers.
- Sector Diversification: IPOs in new industries (tech, healthcare, REITs) broaden SGX&rsquo s market profile. BoardRoom
🏢 Benefits to the Listing Company
- Access to Capital: IPO proceeds fund expansion, acquisitions, R& D, and debt repayment.
- Enhanced Visibility & Prestige: Public listing raises brand credibility with customers, suppliers, and investors.
- Liquidity for Shareholders: Founders and early investors gain an exit route or partial monetization.
- Valuation Benchmarking: Market pricing provides a transparent valuation reference.
- Talent Attraction: Listed status helps recruit and retain employees via stock options.
- Tax Incentives: Singapore offers corporate income tax rebates (up to SGD 6M annually for five years, depending on market cap) to newly listed firms. InCorp Global BoardRoom
⚠ ️ Challenges & Trade-offs
- Regulatory Burden: Continuous disclosure obligations and compliance with SGX/MAS rules.
- Loss of Autonomy: Founders face shareholder scrutiny and diluted control.
- Market Pressure: Public companies must deliver consistent quarterly performance.
- Costs of Listing: IPO preparation, underwriting, and compliance expenses can be substantial. InCorp Global

👉 For SGX, IPOs are about
market vibrancy and fee income. For companies, IPOs are about
capital, credibility, and liquidity.

Low tech company, copy cat biz model.
Why SGX ipo this type of company?
The banks would typically sell it back to the issuing company or principals anyway unless they are underwriting the deal with their own balance sheet, which I doubt so
