Lee Kim Tah Q1 profit nearly trebles
Developer and construction company Lee Kim Tah Holdings reported first-quarter profits of S$17.6 million, almost treble the S$6 million a year ago, supported by a surge in fair value gain in investment properties. For the three months ended March 31, 2013, sales rose 21.4 per cent to S$21.8 million, mainly due to recognition of construction revenue from RV Residences, a joint-venture project in the River Valley area in Singapore. The bottom line was further boosted by a fair value gain in investment properties of nearly 370 per cent to S$12 million. This was largely a result of an increase in valuation of Jurong Point Shopping Centre, in which it owns a 50 per cent stake.. (Source: Business Times)
