Singtel' s meat is investors' poison. I had sold my shares received from its its ipo at no gain or loss. In fact, Singtel had had cheek to price the ipo at an even higher its price. Singtel knew its fortune when the authority granted it a time extension to sell down its stake. Oyherwise, the ipo would have been lower.

"Singtel pops the champagne after it received $1.1b in cash after it sold its 75.01% stake in NetLink Trust.
According to UOB Kay Hian, the shareholder loan of $1.1b has also been repaid.
Singtel's book cost for 100% of NetLink is only S$265m."

I am wondeering how come institutions have no interest in this nationwide monopoly fibre  network provider. Is it due to their earning is regulatd and no much room to grow. So far there are about 13 houses have had calls to long & target price around 93-95, but judging from their performance since IPO and the current price, investors should have to rethink whether the NetLink&rsquo s future ready good and DPU shall always stable and marginal improvement. Don&rsquo t forget that the market psychology always right.

"Similar to Netlink Trust Singapore, Australia also have their own Company operating National Broadband Network (NBN). It is interesting to note that the Australian NBN CEO thinks that there will be damaging and intense competition from the up and coming 5G network technology."

This counter is something like Cityspring, now Keppel Infrastructure Trust. Price can never move up, but dpu payout remains stable qtr after qtr,...

Singtel' s price is not stable, after we buy-in, it may drop further, hence, is not  a good candidate for parking our funds. Netlink seems to be  a good candidate,... till now,....
Any other counters ??

If you want to sleep well at night, yes go for 7%.
More daring others can make 7% in a day (or lose the same).
It is a personal choice.

The price of this counter may hold till the day before XD. Then  from XD onwards, the price will retract again and stay down till the next ann' t day,....
BUT ,..... if we think again,... if the price does not fall too much later-on, it is still worth it to buy-in now, earn the annualised dpu of 7%, and average down further  from XD onwards, RIGHT ? |

Where can one get  a return of more than 7% for our cash holdings ??

Another matter :-
1) For the previous dividend payout period, the amount paid out was 3.24c, for the period from listing date, 19 July 2017 till 31 March 2018. There was a shortage of 20 days of dpu-payout period here.
2) For the dpu announced yesterday, the payout was 2.44c for a FULL PAYOUT PERIOD of two-quarters from 1 April 2018 till 30 September 2018.
Is the dpu-payout trend amount beginning to drop ?  A full two-quarter payout is LESS THAN a two-quarter payout which was short of 20 days.
One reason that I could think of for the above event is because the revenue mix is now shifting from installation-related activities to diversion- and maintenance-related activities... but whatever the reason, a drop in dpu payout is indeed a red flag, till the dpu payout stabilizes ! Dropping dpu amount causes unit price to drop too, generally...
Something just triggered me this morning as I review the performance here.
You said the projected EPU for FY19 is 1.90c.
The dpu given to us for 1H19 = 2.44c. And the CEO, in the press release was estimating the dpu for 2H19 to be also at 2.44c. 2.44c x 2 = 4.88c !!!
Isn' t there a very BIG mismatch here bet the projected epu and the projected dpu for FY9/20 ?????????
