U.S. equities rose on Monday as a weekend filled with geopolitical worries ended more calmly than investors expected.
The Dow Jones industrial average rose 100 points, with Boeing and IBM contributing the most gains. The S&P 500 gained 0.3 percent, with real estate and consumer discretionary leading advancers. The Nasdaq composite also rose 0.3 percent.
