Results ok but waiting for PCCW results . We know NAV > 50 cts and it is rarity for telco leader to have price way below NAV . Means ? a lot of UPSIDE PCCW may hit IOT Jackpot . Especially those partnerships with TenCent : ) 1 startup jackpot hit will be enough to value it x 5 times more

so this is actually a telco company specifically.. Have to be mindful of what is happening to singtel etc... It' s effects should be the same.. Downward spiral

how is tat gg to happen? if hk reclaim land for PRC, its not solving any housing issue at all... It just opens a new influx of property surge, at the expense of hk ppl.. I seriously think tat is not gg to happen.

PCCW is going to benefit from HK massive land reclamation projects.

Population will shoot up especially from muddle class mainlamders.

China is trying to merge China Unicom with China Telecom. Much like China Shipping and Cosco merger This is to create synergies and costs efficiency in infrastructure building. Remember China Unicom holds about 19% stake in HK Telco leader PCCW. So what is China Unicom going to do next ?

A few ways to look at it :

1. China Telco may make an offer for PCCW

Or

2. Richard may make an offer for PCRD

Or

3. Richard may use PCRD as a vehicle for SEA and Australia markets and other biz expansion so an injection of JV assets likely for such a scenario

This may include but not limit to :

Fintech biz
Insurance
E Commerce

Partners may likely be TenCent or even Alibaba Alipay with some big name banks

Tencent more likely of course. Alibaba less likely : ) Fintech Event next month in Singapore . UOB has already JV with Sina backed Pintec in Fintech biz for SEA.

Richard Li after cashing out what will he do ?

Most likely he will go into PE Fund Management biz.

That is his passion.

Invest and seeing Returns .

He could potentially be richer than his father if he didnt sell away ...that stakes ....to South Aftican funds.

Dont be surprised if Singtel join in the China led Consortium to launch a bid for PCCW .

Singtel very much wants to expand into HK. But politics reasons has it that Singtel will not get it wholly.

Thus China 70 % Singtel 30% JV bid is a likely possibility.

The NAV is correct. As for the RNAV, the assets of PCCW and HKT at market value will have added around 40 cents to PCRD's NAV. This is unless you have considered taking a discount of 30% to account for the conglomerate HQ discount at PCRD level.
