HKT currently has permission to interconnect with US networks, allowing calls and data to be exchanged directly.

One question I have is about PCPD. They have a big refi wall coming up next year and question how they will deal with that. The book value is practically zero and not sure the market value of their HK property changes things materially from that (although there is a wide range of potential outcomes). That US$800m bond due 2026 is a big number.

You mean that will be another dividend coming this year? How did you know that?
By the way, I remember recieving a special dividend from PC before and that was not CD in sgx, anyway to check on the record on that?

Also china mobile coming to enter HK in a big way once they complete HKBN acquisition later this year which will mean HKT having a proper competitor for the first time in its history.
It is true that PCRD is still trading at a discount to sum of parts given PCCW' s share price performance, so I think a long PCRD short PCCW pairs trade still works.
But if you cannot hedge with a PCCW short then I feel now is the right time to start selling PCRD, which is what I am doing, because I am not sure PCCW is good value anymore.
And I was surprised the last PCRD dividend was not partly stated as a special dividend, given that a significant part of it was debt funded. If the market is assuming this level of dividends is sustainable then I think at some point they will find out they are mistaken.

With the current price of PCCW in HKeX at HK$5.55, there is room for PCRD share price to move further up 9c more from the current 43c (noting the 22.7% of PCCW forms the most important asset of PCRD, and taking into acct the debt level of PCRD).
