SIIC as a big beneficiary of coming structural bonds changes may fly too?
As I mentioned previously I would expect SIIC to underperform Everbright. SIIC just has more hairs - why complicate an attractive sector story by taking risks?
SIIC did not manage its debt properly. So it has suffered last year with poor earnings outcome. It is trying to improve the situation.  Used to pay 1 ct final dividend and 0.5 ct interim dividend.  Last yr, only paid 0.6 ct final dividend with no interim dividend. Hopefully, it will reflect a strong turnaround in the next half year or so.

saw someone mentioned china everbright being a beneficiary, then was thinking SIIC will also float then~
The Group is pleased to announce that it has secured five new projects in Heilongjiang, Henan and
Jiangxi Provinces of the People' s Republic of China, including wastewater treatment, water supply and
sludge treatment projects, with a total designed capacity of 85,000 tonnes per day, 5,000 tonnes per day
and 600 tonnes per day, respectively. Moreover, a 25,000-tonne wastewater treatment plant (' WWTP' )
project in Ningxia commenced commercial operation.

Anyone following this and CEWL? The entire water sector has gone really quiet and obviously very depressed in valuations as well.
it seems like this SIIC is an empty shell
the financial statements also not transparent at all
no wonder nobody dare to touch
let see if reach 10 cents then buy abit
I look at the news, if its about HK, its almost always about the rioters and how their CE Carrie is losing control.

SO got chance to buy or wait until 10cents then buy?
Not sure but there are lots of shorters.
what is going on... water environment not in good shape?
shortsellers are still very active in this stock it seems.
every day short selling report, SIIC will be inside.
looking at the 100, 200 lots buying and selling every few mins.
someone is trying to suppress the price and collect it slowly.
this is not for contra players. contra players will only feed the short sellers and make the stock go slower and slower when they are forced to sell.

It is strange that the HK dual primary listing becomes some sort of a non event after spending so much money and effort. I noticed the volume in HK is even lower than Singapore on those days that I checked. And the share price keeps going down. The same goes for China Everbright Water. The stock is cheap but cheap keeps getting cheaper.
NO ARE VERY GOOD.  BUT  HOW TO BELIVE THESE NO ARE REAL . ANYBODY KNOWS .

Thanks for the input, n3wbie.
The movement of SIIC environment this week looks promising after weeks of suppresed price movement despite multiple good news.
I shall enter and hold it for mid-term.

Personally, I like the water sector given the defensiveness of the sector but there have been plenty of concerns:
- Sell-off across the board in recent weeks for Chinese equities leading to poor sentiment
- Rise in interest rates would increase financing costs for the water companies given that their balance sheet are mostly quite weak with high gearing
- The rise in financing costs would hurt overall EPS
- Tightening of credit would also affect their ability to gear up even more to grow via M& A
Believe it may be a multitude of factors as above, including but not exhaustive that led to the depressed valuations of the sector.

are there anyone looking at this stock now?
the stock price has been depressed a lot (judging from the short selling reports and how the price is being suppressed, I believe there are some people trying to suppress the stock on purpose) without bad news.
Rather they have announced new contracts, and their half-yearly annual report last week appears to be good. profit and revenue increased, good cash flow.
Seems like a good catch for a mid to long term investment.
Will be glad to hear any opinions from other people here.
