break out. from sideways trend. last chance to enter. monday and next week will run fast
It came off the lows of 170s recently and it appears that near term resistance is with the 200D MA of $0.196, tested couple of times but have not been able to claim it convincingly so far.

Valuations look attractive (0.27x PB and > 5% yield) but not sure if share price is suppressed on purpose. If memory serves, Citic Envirotech share price was on a long decline and suddenly a GO offer was made to privatise the company.

So this one don?t touch?
High debt is inevitably one of the characteristics of water treatment companies (or utility counters) - the question is their ability to get low cost of capital to make sure that it doesn' t erode margins. The construction aspect of the business is not attractive given that it is capital intensive and poor cash flows but its the 20-30 year concessions thereafter that are lucrative and provide the recurring income.
Valuations for SIIC and CEWL remain very depressed and this is probably one of the few sectors that has not seen any re-rating in the recent rally.

SIIC has been quite under the radar. With the deluge of funds flooding in the market and tech/finance stocks saturating, it might be worthwhile to take a look at utlities related shares.
In 2016, Shanghai Industrial Group bought in 350,000,000 placement shares at $0.63. Lets take a look at Q32016 restuls
Revenue - 394,861,000
Net Profit - 110107000
EPS - RMB4.17 cents
Compare this to Q32020
Revenue - 1506532000
Net Profit - 231280000
EPS - RMB 6.28cents
Interestingly, Shanghai Industrial Group is the largest shareholder now with 48% stake. Clearly, EPS now has improved compared to 2016, when placement shares were bought in at $0.63.
Share price now is trading at $0.19. If I were Shanghai Industrial Group, what would i do? Even if i offer a buyout offer at 150% of current price, that would be only $0.28, still way cheaper than the $0.63 bought in 2016. |
