Their Thump Drive invention and their failure to file a patent before publising it (which make subsequent patenting void) is a text book study. They could have been a multi-billion dollar Company if not for this innocent looking mistake. IMHO

Chairman and CEO did first insider purchase since the resumption of trading - 800k at 27c/share. before the company went into suspension, they were actively doing share buy backs as high as 31c and Chairman also bought at 30.5c (smaller quantum of just 42k shares).
OSIM previously bought into the company via a placement at 43.65c.
the company has some US$50m of net cash and cash equivalents (including some of their quoted investments) which is equivalent to some S$68m. market cap at present is S$85m so 80% of the company is cash. if I were to annualise its 3Q17 results where they made US$5.5m net profit (equivalent to S$7.5m), that gives an ex-cash PE of 2.3.
seems like quite a compelling buy, thoughts?

Ernst & Young has lodged a report with the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) against OSIM-linked TREK 2000 over discrepancies relating to several sale transactions.
In a filing with the SGX, TREK disclosed that the auditor' s concerns relate to documentation for certain sale transactions between its subsidiary and a consumer worth US$3.2m.
Essentially the discrepancies relate to:
1) Identity of the customer between TREK' s sales system and its books
2) Delivery orders acknowledged by customer vs airway bill
3) Payer identity on bank transfer payments of US$2.65m
In addition, TREK is currently undergoing an Interested Party Transaction (IPT) inquiry surrounding transactions with T-Data Systems.
The auditor' s report to ACRA comes after two of TREK' s independent directors resigned in late Mar.
OSIM recently took a 8.79% stake in TREK 2000 with the initial block acquired in Jul ' 15. The lifestyle counter intends to work with TREK 2000 to apply the latter' s patents and technology in its products.
In the wake of the complaint, Trek has converted its trading halt into a suspension.
Ron Sim has a stake in this, hasn't he? Now suspended due to account irregularity. Must have flagged by accountant bin time for the company to take such drastic action. Vested one time very briefly thinking that their flu card will be a hit. Divested before insider (boss's wife) buying up the shares and Osim took a stake. Thought I have sold off too early but luckily I did. Another non s chip bite the dust and join the like of Jesper, Jason, ABL etc etc
few things hit the counter recently - 1) profit guidance, 2) IPT 3) receivables discrepancies. there is uncertainty over the write-off and loss to be expected and items 2 & 3 show flaws in corporate governance. believe the only brokerage covering them, RHB has recently dropped coverage also. would wait out for greater clarity in my personal opinion.
