PRIVATISE AT 50CENTS

Wow that is a big buy - the villas are not cheap.  Any reason for the villa purchase, eg as a retirement home or for rental? I looked at Opus Bay too, but was not sure if I would go there often enough to make it sensible to buy a unit there, although prices were very nice and the concept very attractive.

Any sense on whether demand for the Opus Bay units was good?

On the postive note - I think the current 2nd Gen CEO William has signalled that Tuan Sing is undervalued even at current prices.  The buy backs at higher prices seem to suggest as well.  So, it is a positive that they want prices to go higher (I always had the secret fear of a cheap-skate privatisation by the majority family).  So, this is not a big issue now.  An interim dividend would off-foot naysayers, and signal higher dividends going forward - very very important for a company that has been long-viewed to be cheap-skate and stingy when it comes to giving out dividends to minorities.

Goldfinger      ( Date: 02-Jul-2021 10:40) Posted: Totally concur on this.  I expect 48cts to 52 cts rangebound until the 1H 2021 results or Gultech China listing to be announced.  After that - my target is 70 cents to 80 cents range, as the listing on a China exchange will be massive.  Also, the current valuation of Tuan Sing' s stake in Gultech China based on the stake sale, already well exceeds the market valuation of Tuan Sing based on current prices. This values all its Australian hotels, Singpaore office and commercial buildings at overseas properties at ZERO. haha. Ridiculous if you think about it

 

look like minor resistance at 0.54 and next resistance at 0.55-0.56 level.
