Hmm.. Sometimes u must see what stock u are buying.. Dividend stock for huge retracement is unlikely.. If happen that the price really falls, it might be some bad news or fundamental changes.. So u will not buy either.. If port activities stable or keep going up, then u will miss out on the lower entry price today...lppl one.. U need foresight and abit of luck.

In simple term, buy the stock on 16 Feb or before. If you purchase a stock on its ex-dividend date or after, you will not receive the dividend payment.
Record Date : 18 February 2021 at 5.00 p.m.
Closing price will drop by 0.010 USD
E.g. 18 Feb 2021 closing price is 0.225 USD, 19 FEB 2021 opening price will be 0.215 USD

Conclusion, if you are looking to buy HPH and afraid of buying at high price.
The above figures shows that 5 out of 6 Ex-Dividend Date shows that you are only within 4% difference whether you buy before or after Ex-Date.
My Suggestion is to split your buying into 2 parts, buying once before Ex-Date and Once After Ex-Date so you average your price. There is no real formula of getting the right price. And if I can get it right, I go buy TOTO liao.
However, there is one way call value investing. When you invest in HPHT, you invest in a port business and you want to know the
1) Growth Plan ( Share Price got room for improvement? )
I have covered this topic many times, must go scroll on your own =D
2) Dividend Payout ( Net Profit can up some more anot? )
Net Profit 57% Better? If maintain, already one of the highest Paying Reits in SGX
Most importantly, if fundamental of the stock doesnt change, just HOLD and ride the wave up :)

Outstanding Performance of 2020 2nd Half gives shareholder / Analyst the confidence of the growth of HPHT, based on the results, DBS should be giving its re-rating in due course as it out performance the DPU / Profit by great margin of more than 30% - 54%.
RCEP effect has yet to set in which is expected on 2nd half of 2021.
Based on my previous research, Container Port volume is still at breaking neck volume.
Fundamental remains intact, High Growth, High Dividends.
Chart is still projecting uptrend movement, with the same rate of growth, I expect to hit my first milestone of $0.38 USD ( Net Asset Value ) in 2021.
For Holders, let&rsquo s continue riding. For Profiters, we have our fair journey together and enjoy your profit while we sail on =D

Short and contra better don't be here. Many other stocks for you. This is uptrend already said many times since last yr. My sincere advise.
So many Penny stocks with little or no dividends can run . Eg the place . Aspen . Vicplas . Oceanus . Why this counter cannot ? Care to share ?

A massive line-up of containers at Yantian Port in Shenzhen, South China ' s Guangdong Province, has reached its limits and led to serious congestion there.
The port, which handles one-third of Guangdong ' s foreign trade shipments and one-quarter of China ' s exports to the US, said that slow operations of foreign ports amid the COVID-19 pandemic and earlier shipment of exports ahead of the Spring Festival caused the backlog.
Since Wednesday, vehicles have been lining up to enter the port and return containers. A trailer driver surnamed Hou who has delivered containers at the port for years said that it took nearly 10 hours to return a container on Saturday.
In a Thursday statement sent by Yantian International Container Terminals (Hutchison Ports Yantian) to the Shenzhen Container Trailer Association, obtained by the Global Times, the terminal said that nearly 300,000 containers have been stockpiled at the port, hitting a record high with the stockpiling density reaching its limit !!
Yantian port mainly serves routes to Europe and the US.
