King Wan Corp can meet payment obligations, board says after bourse query

MAINBOARD-LISTED building and construction services provider King Wan Corp will be able to fulfil its payment obligations in the next 12 months, the board told the Singapore Exchange (SGX) on Thursday, after being queried on its financial position.

The directors' cash flow forecast is for an average monthly cash balance of about S$5 million to be maintained for the period, to meet the group' s operating requirements.

Bourse operator SGX had flagged loss-making company' s upcoming bills payables and bank borrowings of S$34.3 million, as well as its cash and bank balance of " only S$8.2 million" , to ask how the company plans to meet its significant payment obligations.

In reply, King Wan attributed its net comprehensive loss in FY2020 to a fair-value loss in equity securities, which did not affect its cash flow and the contributions from its core mechanical and electrical (M& E) engineering services business.

Citing continued support from banks, the board said that 87 per cent of ongoing M& E projects have resumed work, and that it is confident that the business segment " is on track to resume operations for all ongoing construction projects by November 2020" .

This is even as King Wan had trade receivables of S$5.3 million, contract assets of S$25.3 million and undrawn bank credit facilities of S$15.1 million as at March 31, plus a S$5.0 million temporary bridging loan (TBL) drawn down in May, the board added.

" The group is able to utilise operating cash in-flows, undrawn bank credit facilities and TBL to repay its indebtedness as and when they fall due," it said.

On the breach of debt covenants with " a few financial institutions" at end-March, the board noted that letters of indulgence or waiver have been obtained and the debt covenants were breached as the net fair-value loss reduced the group' s net assets.

" This had no significant impact on the operations of the group and will not result in the group facing a cash flow problem," the board added.

" The group is not in default for any outstanding loans. The financial institutions did not accelerate the maturity dates of the loans or recall any outstanding loans."
Cut lost long ago......useless stock!

This one very Jialat ....used to pay good dividend and was trading around $0.30  ....now LS till $0.086
KTIS valusation at listing was much higher than its two already listed peers then.  So many people was hoping KW can sell out their stake then.  At one point KTIS hits THB$12.  KW didnt grab that opportunity.  Now only THB$6.  It is history now.
Frankly, I dont think KTIS can recover back to near its listing price of THB$10.

One of my very earlier investment.  Their KTIS stake doing pretty bad since listing.  Many tot they should have cash out early.  Already lost 40% in market value.  Investment in china and local property also flopped.
No dividend is a real killer.  Not a growth company, not a dividend paying company, not an investibel company at the moment.

Keep hitting low..... Hmm.....
One to two years ago, this was a closely followed stock and touted by many invesment analysts and popular investment websites as a company good for investing for at least 5 years with potential of dishing out special dividends over several years which can potentially increase an investor' s dividend yield and also trigger share price growth upside. Look at what has happened now? Where are the special dividends? There are no special dividends coming but one thing for sure is that the share price has declined by up to 50% from 2 years ago.
The truth of the matter is no one holds a crystal ball to be so sure and confident of the future fortunes of a company. Fortunes of any business can change. One is only trying to make high probability bets when selecting which stock to invest in. There is no such thing as a 100% sure bet when it comes to investing. If there is such 100% sure bet, then one should gladly put all his lifetime savings on that one single investment which is 100% sure to make money. Even investment analysts and popular investment websites do get their analysis and forecasts wrong too. This KingWan is one proven case out of many other cases of this point.

Anybody still holding this stock? Seem like not much trading activity after the no-dividend announcement last year.
Haha, this one finally broke out of 20 cents with high volume. Any follow-through ?
This one from analysts hype to analysts hide!
this one very unexpected, same as OKP years back, both solid. thus it is still best to vest in blues, I knw u gg to say, blue also blue black, but chances slim.
Don' t think it' s a requirement.  But maybe useful for SGX to have some guidelines.  A lot of other  coys don' t issue either.  Then, we get coys like Ausgrp, today issue PW, tmr result out.  Seems more wayang than anything else to me.
