Hi M Korn:))) Glad to kno we r in same boat:((( ex div date is Aug 25....which means you must hold the ThaiBev shares until record date - which is usually 2 working days after ex div date...i will chk on the record date n hold the shares until after trading on that day in order to receive div. The div payout is on Sep 11. Hope this helps!

Might want to chck with your broker on that, he needs to do some work collecting the 0.28% X2.

does it means that i will need to hold till 25th Aug for the div payout?

Could you share what does  THB 0.15 less tax means? what is record date?

They bought F& N, although ThaiBev owns less than 30%, but TCC (owned by Charoen who controls ThaiBev).

What' s in F& N that caught Charoen' s attention and made him pay billions?  Is it the drinks? Or property?

Hi  the3nomads,

This is based on my own understanding and personal opinion:

Thaibev business is made up of 4 components: 1) Spirits, 2) Beer, 3) Beverage (No-Alcohol) & 4) Resturant(s) - I reckon.

1 & 2) Spirits Business - This 2 components have good performance. But it is due to increase in Sales prices and reduction in material cost, but in the mid-term or long run, how much can you increase in prices and reduce in cost?

3  Non-Alcoholic Beverages Business - Not doing well, i doubt can recover within the short term or mid term.

4)  Food Business -  Mainly due to an increase in number of branches. [I would expect constant revenue in the short term] - To me: it looks like a double edge sword.

Anyway the reason why i bought thaibev because it cause my attention, during the ups and downs of the market, it was relatively strong (robust), so i thought i should give it a chance. :) No other reason.

Hi! bishan22    :)

I unloaded yesterday. I am a easily contented person. ^.^ Good luck to all today, trader(s)!

Better to unload before the BB does. This BB has been collecting huge stack when the price was pressed down for weeks. Good luck.  smiley

OCBC n CIMB r both bullish with TP at 0.74. DBS more conservative at 0.68. So I am taking a very non scientific av of 0.71 as the new possible high...

I think there' s news coming.    Notice the volume picked up in August, a steady accumulation probably by insiders.

I' m still trying to figure out what' s happening to Thai Beverage.    There were large parcels of shares transacted, one million just ' X' outside of system at 0.675 at 1540 hours, as if there is some good news coming up.      Sellers are also out in force, but for this stock that has moved sideways on low volume for a few months to suddenly jump in price at high volume is an indication  there could be some good news coming. Vol is now 57mln shares, just reaching  yesterday' s vol of 61mln shares.

This could be a breakout from  a wedge formation.  Usually, the upward  spiral for this kind of breakout is significant.    I try to post a pic.

is 70 cents the next resistence level?

is the current rally becuase of the div?

Kyoto2008      ( Date: 20-Aug-2014 11:31) Posted:

70 cents is the all time high, let' s see if the breakout from the wedge is confirmed.    Recently seen so many false breakouts until I lose faith liao when I see formations completed.
