Results getting uglier.  Share px melting further.  Is there light at the end of the tunnel?  Or Uncle Kwek can' t even find the tunnel now?

Their FY profit came down alot compare to last year, but their financial is very good. Will keep for future. If price goes down, will look to add.

Lately, seeing those undervalued fundamentally good companies starting to bottoming out.

Yep, looks financially very sound.  Problem is the China consumer goods div is pulling it down.  But doubt they wll privatise.  Rarely see a HL coys privatise, so I think HLA' s not gonna that way too.  I recall HLA was offered an attractive px for Xinfei in 2010 (that was when HLA was chased up > 6.00, I think), but declined.  Well, if the China property mkt turns around, maybe HLA' s consumer goods div wld also see better fortunes n share px cld retrace to > 1, or if wanna be more hopeful, 2.  Let see ....

Just vested in this co ... many M& A, delisting .... those which the P/B is low will be a target. Not sure if this will delist, but the current price is really a bargain.

P/B = 0.317, Cash = 1B (a whopping ~ $2.60 / share). Current price is only 0.72. Giving yearly dividend.

The parent company is Hong Leong group which owns 62.81%.

先 死 而 后 生 。

Hong Leong Asia don' t have much shares. So it can easily raise when people started buying.

Festive seasons, maybe revenue will go up.

But Ah Beng seems doesn' t think the same way leh.  Maybe they see light at the end of the tunnel that will shine as reforms in the PRC economy beams a different lamp.    But how  long is this tunnel hah?  Still, there may be hope for the other divisions - Tasek, Yuchai ....  Then again, what abt  HL Global E  .... another drag on the performance?  So, maybe, yah, unless they re-structure the loss-making parts of the business out of the way, seems hard to chiong leh.

Hopeless company. Consumer products biz in China is a cut throat biz. Ppl with money will buy western or Japanese or Korean brands. Ppl with little money will buy imitation brands because they are cheap, so who will buy Xinfei brand which is no difference from an imitation but more expensive? In short, the brand has no market positioning at all. It' s dead !  I think better sell before it gets worse.

Don' t know what uncle kwek sees in the consumer goods div in china.  It has been unprofitable for yrs.  They shd have got rid of it long ago.  Then the share will be back to at least $2.  For as long as they hang on ti it, it' d be the albatrose on HLA' s back - n of course don' t expect the coy results to be spectacular even if profitable.
