For us, the layman to understand, Bonus Issue is something like, the opposite of Shares Consolidation.
Of course Bonus Issue sounds so much more enticing.
a simple basic example: A company originally issues 1 million shares at $1 each. That means company is worth $1 million, right?
next, company decided on Bonus Issue 1 for 1. That means every share will get another share, free. That means company now has 2 million shares. So, what is the value of each share if company is still valued at $1 million? Am I right to say each share is worth 50 cents?

Bonus issue does not dilute any percentage shareholding - fact. Only preferential placements given only to majorities can do so . Please do not provide misleading info as you only deceive the malinformed.
