Remember after your remarks, the share went up to as high as 45cts and someone got promoted in November to take care of taxation etc. Then, the meeting between Najib and Sam Goi in December as per The Star. So something is brewing but whether we get the glass of hot coffee sooner or later is ' tahan' for the moment  cool

KUALA LUMPUR (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - Malaysia' s former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak on Sunday (Dec 12) responded on social media to backlash he received after earlier posting a picture of himself meeting up with Sam Goi, better known as the Popiah King, in Singapore.
He added that the meeting with Goi was to discuss a business matter.
" He asked about Malaysia' s current direction in economy and development because he is planning to invest further in Malaysia," Najib wrote.
" Sam Goi was a fan of the economic and development policies during my time as a prime minister and yes, that Rolls Royce belongs to him."
He added: " Is it so wrong for me to spend my personal time giving my opinions to a potential foreign investor to Malaysia despite me no longer being the prime minister?"

Attention! There is a low down cheap skates monitoring the buying and selling of Hanwell everyday. I try to buy 10 lots on offer @41 cts for year end window dressing up of my portfolio. And he can control the system such that I get only 600 shares and my buy balance 9,400 shares were put on queue. So, I buy my balance 9,400 shares @41.5cts as paying $50/- more is small money as far as I am concern. And this low down cheap skates sell me another 9,400 shares @41cts making me buying now 19,400 shares instead of 10,000 shares as I originally intended. Whoever he is, if he thinks he is a wizard, forget it as it just wasting the parents money sending to schools for education. This is no where an ability to do great things!  angry

the more ah sam keeps quiet like the old management, the more we remain frustrated. why never attempt to engage analysts on business plan and straegies?

Good morning! May I ask what make you think a long haul is expected. Considering the kind of business, there is really nothing exciting about Hanwell future for my opinion, except the NTA of the company versus the share price. Moreover, adding close aides to secure position, also mean costs and liabilities, whatsover the needs must be justifiable. Let' s see if we get glamorous results in the next reporting

Bought into Hanwell since in their 20c ++ .
Believe in the leadership of Uncle Sam,
I can understand the biz,
and its NTA was higher than share price then.

Dividend payout does not really bother me. Else would have bought REITS instead.  I believe Hanwell could put them to better use.

Vested for the long haul.

Actually, Uncle Sam is giving 1.5 cents dividend now. He buys Hanwell @42 cents and now the share on offer for selling at 40.5cents. Better grap now before you regret.

KGI expects Hanwell to ride on logistics growth, initiates with ' neutral'

KGI Securities has initiated coverage on Hanwell Holdings, a group that manufactures, distributes and markets a range of food and consumer goods.

The research team has a " neutral" call on the mainboard-listed counter with a target price of 42 Singapore cents - 11 times its FY2022 earnings per share estimate of 3.8 cents.

KGI' s target price represents an upside of 6.3 per cent from Hanwell' s trading price of 39.5 cents as at 3.26pm on Tuesday. The counter was flat at the time.

The research team expects Hanwell' s packaging business to be the main driver of growth for the group, amid robust global logistics demand. The group has a 64 per cent stake in mainboard-listed Tat Seng Packaging, a paper packaging business that caters to Singapore and China.

Tat Seng had contributed about 62-66 per cent to Hanwell' s total top line over the last four years, KGI noted. Amid the backdrop of accelerating e-commerce sales and increased demand for storage materials due to logistics bottlenecks, KGI estimates demand for corrugated cardboard boxes to rise.

Moreover, KGI projects stable contributions from Hanwell' s consumer goods segment, which has been generating a consistent revenue stream over the last four years. It expects further growth in this area as the group looks to expand its offerings by 30 per cent in the next three to five years.

Hanwell has a total of four subsidiaries involved in the fast-moving consumer goods business - rice and oil distributor Topseller, paper goods and diapers distributor Tipex, as well as Fortune Food Manufacturing, which manufactures noodles, desserts and soybean-based products.

Hanwell also has SOCMA Trading Sdn Bhd, one of its marketing and distribution arms in Malaysia.

Isn' t Sam against Tang or Tang against Sam good for Hanwell shareholders? Now Sam and Prima with Tang out and there is still Violet against Sam and/or Prima, isn' t that good for Hanwell shareholders? No competition, complacent may sat in and no progress for Hanwell, lah!

n3wbie      ( Date: 21-Sep-2021 22:22) Posted:

Must also take into account that they consolidate the earnings from Tat Seng of which they own 64%. If we strip that out, the core business of Hanwell contributes c.$4m at about 10x PE. That being said, it does have a huge amount of cash on its books so it remains to be seen what and how the new management can utilise that to create shareholder returns.

There are supply-related constraints which will place upward pressure on margins not to mention other increases in operating costs. If the new major shareholders can indeed drive business and operational synergies, then this stock is certainly something to watch.

While Sam Goi and Prima have taken out Tang, there is still a HK group (Violet) who owns c.24% of the company? Not sure if I' m missing something but they apparently voted against the election of Sam as Chairman at recent EGM. Would that shareholder potentially create issues for the new board and management team?
