seemingly, this deal look like a force marriage and serve most to make the fund managers look good

in total SPH shareholder will get  $0.668 cash and 1.378 SPH REIT share for every SPH share they hold which is a lousy deal for SPH retail shareholders

SPH can look for alternative competitive offer /buyer , such as property developers for its REIT and property assets

Wisdom my arse. Wisdom is : if they had used their resouces and make a successful e commerce start up, in media you can look at Instagram startup as example, tik tok, etc.... Dont complain or give excuse Singapore market cannot do start up. With SPH huge $ and HR resources in media, could have gone to China in 2000s to venture, JV etc. If they had done that, then yes, WISDOM. DYODD

Probably a big hint - Everyman knows SPH is severely undervalued for its property and Fintech assets.

I am sure the majority owner of qoo10 wants to cash out and become a billionaire soon.

The 51-year-old entrepreneur (who started a similar venture in South Korea but has divested it) expects Qoo10 to stop bleeding red ink in the second half of 2020 - with an eye on an initial public offering the year after, to boot.

The most potentially valuable is qoo10 I think.  It owns a 6+percent stake in qoo10, which has a presence in multiple Asian markets, besides Singapore and qoo10 has other owners.  The day that qoo10 goes for a stock market listing in the USA or Hong Kong or London (not silly SGX of course), or is bought out in the billlions by another competitor, eg SEA/Shopee or Lazada or Amazon - the valuation and returns will be very very very big.  Very very big.  Coupang had a lot of excitement, but SPH only had a 0.1percent stake in Coupang. In qoo10, it is a substantial minority shareholder.

Keppel owns 60% of the data centre biz other potentials fall under minor investments in the digital portfolio, e.g. 0.1% in Coupang.

PBSA, Aged Care, Retail & Commercial [mostly covered by SPH REIT with the exception of Seletar Mall] are all brick and mortar businesses which are hardly new economy.
