Any rights issue is likely to be deeply discounted.

From my personal experience, when an entity whose operations are controlled by a large shareholder, they usually deeply discount the right issue price hoping that some do not subscribe and they gain by subscribing.

This has the effect of lowering the price further.

Income support from the sponsor  is for an absolute amount of income and will still be support to the new tax...it does not guarantee that the yield remains at a certain level.

never base buy/sell on brokers' recommedation, they don' t have much track record!
take a look at SempCorpMarine, Keppel, CSE Global, ... their recommeds are just shit !!!

SINGAPORE (Apr 13): CIMB is downgrading Lippo Malls Indonesia Retail Trust (LMIRT) to &ldquo reduce&rdquo from &ldquo hold&rdquo with a lower target price of 33 cents.

The downgrade followed amendments made by the Indonesian government to rules regarding payment of income tax on income received or earned from land and building leases in Indonesia from Jan 2.

Based on the trust&rsquo s pro-forma assessment, it indicated that its FY17 distributable income could drop by about 7.2% to 3.19 cents, instead of 3.44 cents. This situation is also assuming that the new regulations were in effect on Jan 1 instead.

based on last year for one mall, renewal of lease is almost free OR very cheap in indonesia!
diff deom SG ! it is a good chance to accumulate ...

to be clear, I had meant the leases of the malls and not those of tenants...not sure how much the property owner has to pay the gov' t to renew the leases...not cheap.

The transfer of listing will add further risks as the government there may require the REIT to meet further requirements.

I just looked at the leasehold status of the malls and am shocked that the leases are so short, with many ending their leases very soon.

Further, given the increased religious sensitivities there, the malls may become objects of attacks.

In addition to other risk factors already mentioned by others, I think it will drop to 3 cents.

Think was about 2 years+ ago that Lippo wanted to transfer its listings back to Jakarta but now got walloped so low ....
