Still i am quite surprised that investors are still vested in rotary as no project continuing after all their last project end this year.

They will have a lapse of a few months of " eat themselves" which could prove dangerous.

1) Urgency to win projects may force them to take bad project proving not profitable to them as ppl knows they are desperate now.

2) competitors may just bid lower for them to inclur losses in the long term.

3) Their ability to handle cost and profit is really questionable when the last bad project shows they lack good judgement.

These three points is good enough to deter ppl from investing in them liao.

You are right that they have got rid of bad projects.   However, as one of the forerunners here commented, their projects will run out this year and they are desperate to win new projects.   It is unlikely they will win future Rapid projects against the team of Sinopec & Knm, since costs and proven projects will favour the China/Malaysia partnership, which can also tender for bigger projects. Having said that, if Rotary is successful in winning new multi-millon dollar projects, then I will consider buying into it.

Losses were due to unfamiliar working labour and market conditions, thus the substantial losses. But Rotary have put it behind them and turned profitable in the past few quarters. Overall, still a good company with sound financials. Losing out on the Rapid project is of course disappointing and probably the reason why quite a number bailed out on results release.

That big contract was Satorp, over a billion $ worth, which cause the share price shoot over $1+.   That very same contract turned out to be a lemon, cost overrun and Rotary loss millions instead, which caused the share price to drop sharply.

There may be some truth that they may have given an edge to a consortium with local content. Such a practice is being adopted by many other countries too, objective merits or de-merits notwithstanding.

There is news on Rapid contract.   Sinopec teamed up with Knm already announced big contract win last week but nothing won by Rotary. Buy Knm/Sinopec.

Its not a question of seeing up or no up.   The costs for a Singapore company may be higher. Local companies like Knm know the local conditions better thats why Sinopec team up with Knm, the leading Malaysian company in the field.   Knm also has offices world wide and the expertise from their subsidiaries and partners in Germany and Italy especially.   Their only local rival recently had the misfortune of an accident at a job with Petronas and the incident is still under investigation.   Look out for more multibillion dollar Rapid contract wins for Sinopec/Knm

If you read the re-rating report by AM Fraser, it says their order book needs to be replenished and thus gave a lower TP. Catalyst for upside is the RAPID project, which as of now, is no news.

Pity, the results released were pretty good.      Didn' t know they lost money on the Middle East though, BT has a way of reporting only part of the true story, reporters are not up to speed as compared with FT or AWSJ.

Find more info here from investors and shareholders.

Rotary has to quickly get some good margin, new contracts, or else its orderbook going to be kosong and it will become desperate. A few years ago, the same thing happend to Rotary. It was desperate to get contract, so it gladly took on the SATORP project in the Middle East, which eventually resulted in a few years and $100 over millions of losses.

Disappointing, no new contracts announcements. May go much lower from here.

stop being too optimistic about rotary.

the last low was < 50 cents.

it may re-visit this price level.
