hyflux is struggling now. May not be abled to redeem and forced to raise the coupon rate to 8 percent. No money not easy to borrow
they should still redeem in april, no other way.
I did wrote to the relationship manager that to request the Board to issue a statement of qualified opinion with regard to the on going concern of Hyflux, but regretful that I have had received a standard response which were extracted from the quarterly report.

If really cannot issue another corp bond loh. Alll bonds are like that, issue another to cover the previous one.
Alternatively, raise the int yield to 8%, I am sure people will buy in at this good offer price.

Unfortunately not so simple. Besides shareholders' mandate, a broker friend told me that they may have to set up a separate entity to do the buying.
see yday and today price movement very likely........
if they get as many as they can from open market below par ( > $1.00 ) then they can save million or few million dollars by calling back the bond

Don' t think so as if they want to buy back shares/CPS, they should obtain mandate from the shareholders.

Can it be company buy back the shares, So when on Apr 2018, The company do not have to spend so much to redeem the share.
Price down with high volume means no good sign liao.

On Sunday, I read the Straits Times which mentioned about Hyflux 6% CPS#, If this preference share cannot be redeemed on Apr 2018, Then the company will pay 8% interest. Also, I notice these two days, the share price is going down but the value of transactions is quite high (about 1 million for each day).
What actions will be taken by the company on Apr 2018 ? Do you think it is worth to take the risk of holding this share ?

I thought they indicated they' re aprtially divesting TSprings n another asset to reise $$$ to redeem their perpeatual/s? But the TSprings thing seems to be taking a long time perhaps they are asking for a high px so potential buyers are not jumping in straight away.

Maybe syndicates forcing px down to buy low cos of likely early redemption. Cos then they' ll be paid the capital in full. Possible? Ever heard of Argintina' s vulture bonds?

This few days, I check the transaction Volumn (=value) of both 6%CPS and 6%PerCapSec#, The trasaction volumn (=value) of 6%CPS was bigger than 6%PerCapSec# for these few days.
Can it be the company is buying back the share of 6%CPS? so that she not need to pay more when the bond of 6%CPS is due in few months' time.
