If I not wrong TH need at least $2.20 - $2.30 to break even for money invested in olam, Mitsubishi most worse, need $2.80 to break even. Therefore I think the restructuring will create value of at least $2.20 for SHs.

The interest in Olam is not just about profits. Temasek and SALIC (sovereign wealth funds of SG and Saudi) are interested in Olam because it is a big player in global food supply chains. Covid has taught us that when a crisis hits, sometimes money is not enough. At some point, we had the willingness and money to buy masks and vaccines, but still couldnt buy them. Saudi and Singapore are both wealthy countries but have a small agrigulture base. These state investors are willing to pay above fair value to get a significant stake in such strategic companies like Olam. I am sure SALIC and Temasek are not the only ones with this thinking. The IPO is likely to have more than sufficient demand.

Agree w you ....after that Muddy case,  I think Olam n largest SH Temasek is going for value generation .
First the listing of agri division on SGX and LSE .  then the next division .
I am certain this wld generate good returns for SH.
Already major banks have loan to Olam for this listing ....just a matter of timing only

Look at cash flow. High assets that generate little cashflow is a sign of overvaluation. But for Olam, they have been generating high operational cashflows. This indicates that the inventories and fixed assets valuation are ok. I think they have been on the conservative side since the muddy waters incident about 10 years ago.

U are right .....that is why it is very difficult to find trusted good listed company that is well run . Olam is majority Temasek owned. A trust brand globally

Hello yes you are right too, but this is Olam should compare with Wilmar and not comparing with golden agri. Anyway may also due to the future restructuring IPO.

Hello Hello
in a company with commodities do beware of how the biological assets are valued. Most of the   time the factors of rates used are full of uncertainties and cannot be objectively verified.

The planned London listing last year could have pared down the debts, but disrupted by Ukraine war. This current Saudi listing sounds even more exciting...hehe
