Hi chengwh1, spot on. Anybody anticipating a market crash during May -June period?

chengwh1      ( Date: 05-Apr-2016 22:42) Posted:

I think what Ahboi90 meant was when an acquisition comes, there will be share price depreciation to the unitholder, though the DPU will be up.  It' s like the additional DPU earned is targetted for covering the share price loss. Then when another acquisition comes along, the same thing happens. Like a loop always,...

Hi ecekca,... it would be a good time and place to give our views that the manager keeps issuing new shares that dilute our holdings. Even for the latter buyers, their holdings will also be diluted eventually as the event repeats. Hence, ALL unitholders lose,... eventually,....it would be good to know when will and IF  the manager intends to stop issuing new shares to finance acquisitions. Is  this going to be the ongoing strategy forever ?

If I don' t attend, then might as well I sell-off my holdings now,....why are you not going ?

You noted a good point here. This seems to be like a loop.

If they keep on issuing new shares, bad for existing shareholders. Div collected to pay the paper loss as a result of share issue. Not vested and overvalue.

good one on that.. get some then. i have no worry over Ascot in long term but short term, sometimes if mkt swings huge, sometimes rational investor will panic..

Ascot is hospitality REIT..

The thing that captured my attention is the yield is high at this moment, calculated from the very recent total DPU payout of 7.9880 Cts against the current price of $1.065 would give us a whopping yield of 7.5% ! I am just beginning to enter this counter after having seen that it is starting to enter the US mkt, acquiring good quality US assets in Manhattan and the other one recently (can' t remember),...

Hence, the strong interest here to try including this counter intomy portfolio. Another reason is because I do not yet have ' residential REIT' in my portflio. Need to have this too for diversification purposes.

yes, you can but i don' t think you should spend time on that unless you a substantial shareholders

how many lots you invested in Ascot?

Should we seek an answer from the BOD on this during the AGM  ? And we ask them too if they have any plans to stop issung new units, or is this their strategy moving forward ? We just can' t continue to siffer DPU dilution like this.

DPU will drop due to more units issued.. but Distribution overall should be increasing

Short term wise, Ascot should be on a rebound back up .. (can go for short tactical trade)..

Tq ecekca,... I calculated the divvy last year amounted to 7.9880 Cts. At a current price of $1.06, the yield works out to be a whopping 7.54%. This is a very good deal,... but is the DPU going to continue dropping in  future as they make more acquisitions,... due to more new units issued after every acq ?

Coming AGM s on Thursday, April 14. Perhaps investors should take this oportunity to ask the BOD on what their strategy is,... meaning why are their acquisitions detrimental to unitholders ?
