$NutryFarm(AZT.SI) Interesting read.

Durian season in Thailand starts in March every year and ends  somewhere in December. If that seems  surprisingly long, that&rsquo s because Thailand is the world leader in durian exports. Whereas durian in other countries is only in season for 3-4 months, Thailand can produce durians almost all year round!

Some interesting facts about the durian trade:
1. The kind of durians that Thailand exports to China requires a constant climate of a minimum 22 degrees celsius.
2. China has been trying to cultivate their own durians, especially in Hainan province, for years but has met with little success.
3.  Thailand is the only country that can export fresh durian into China.
4. Malaysia produces around 2000 containers of durian a year and half of that goes to Singapore. They are unable to produce  enough to satisfy China' s demand for durians. Furthermore, they are only able to export frozen durian into China and this adds on to the product costs, making them less competitive.
5. Thailand has a huge lead over durian producing countries like Malaysia, Vietnam and Indonesia.

When freight shot up, then u know what is having rev but can make losses.
Especially reefer freight.
And do they own any plantations ? Or just a durian trader ?

Noted: The 35 container revenue is recognised. But the 165 is delivered but not yet recognised. That will result in HK128m of revenue.....may is into 3Q result.
Notice, some BBs buying ard 380 - 390, guess by 3Q, may hit past 400. Need patience. No contra. Think so.

I like to eat DURIANS.
BUT, if revenued improved so much, net profit ONLY HKD 0.4 mil (SGD 70K ) ?
1.May imply profit margin super low.
2. Maybe their logistic providers made even more profits than the "business giver".
3. With net profits of SGD 70K, guess some Singapore rojak seller made more $ than that.
will still eat durians. But will avoid this stock.

$NutryFarm(AZT.SI) I think it is important to clarify:

As per the latest update it states:

Global Agricapital has fulfilled its obligations to purchase and ship 200 containers of fresh durians by 30 April 2021 amounting to RMB130 million. As at 31 March 2021, Global Agricapital shipped 35 containers to Moonda and this was recognized in the Group&rsquo s 2nd quarter financial results announcement where the fruit trading business recorded a revenue of HK$27.9 million contributing substantially to the profit turnaround in the 2nd quarter. Accordingly, the Group expects the 3rd quarter revenue to increase.

This meant that the 615% increase in revenue in this quarter is that part of the increase due to the 35 containers of durians that was transported.

200 container - RMB130m
35 container - RMB 22.75m (HK27.9m) Note RMB1 = HK1.2
165 containers - RMB107m (HK128m)

Do note that the 35 container revenue is recognised. But the 165 is delivered but not yet recognised. That will result in HK128m of revenue.

We can always ask if this is correct during the meeting tomorrow as shared.
