I have many excited for Nano as you all are. This is a patience stock with prospects.

UOBKH upgrades Nanofilm Tech to &lsquo hold&rsquo as challenges ease in 2023
UOB Kay Hian (UOBKH) upgraded its call on Nanofilm Technologies : MZH +3.55% from &ldquo sell&rdquo to &ldquo hold&rdquo and raised its target price to S$1.28 from S$1.02 previously.
The target price is based on 18 times the brokerage&rsquo s estimated FY2023 earnings per share for the group, higher than its previous valuation of 11 times. It is also pegged to one standard deviation point less of the stock&rsquo s long-term mean.
On Thursday (Feb 23), UOBKH analyst John Cheong said that the increase in valuation multiple is due to a less challenging outlook for 2023.
While Nanofilm&rsquo s FY2022 results missed his expectations by 16 per cent, he remains optimistic about the group&rsquo s longer-term outlook. This comes as some of the productions of Nanofilm&rsquo s multiple new projects, under new product introductions or initial production builds, are expected to contribute meaningfully in 2024 onwards.
UOB Kay Hian&rsquo s revised earnings estimates indicated year-on-year earnings growth of 7 per cent for FY2023 and 54 per cent for FY2024. This comes even after the research house slashed FY2023 and FY2024 Nanofilm earnings forecasts by 24 per cent and 4 per cent, as well as revenue forecasts by 13 per cent and 1 per cent.
Even though revenue for Nanofilm&rsquo s industrial equipment business unit declined in FY2022, Cheong noted that the company has been extending its portfolio of large inline-coating systems for high-volume production to support the growth of internal business units.
Nanofilm&rsquo s China operations are also expected to experience a gradual recovery in the second half of the year, he said. Sydrogen Energy, the joint venture between Nanofilm and Temasek, was in the final testing stages of its coated bipolar plates, with mass production expected to commence in Shanghai in the second half of this year.
Although Nanofilm currently trades at 20 times the brokerage&rsquo s FY2023 price-to-earnings ratio estimates, which is at a premium to the stock&rsquo s Singapore peers multiple of nine times, Cheong noted that share price catalyst could come from better-than-expected ramp-up of the nanofabrication business.
The nanofabrication business unit was the only segment to record a revenue growth, with a 145 per cent year-on-year increase.

Probably chng kays still collecting, and short sellers suppressing to cover shorts.
If you look at the price recovery chart of Frencken, it went back up to Sep 22 price level.
If Nanofilm also went back to Sep 22 level, that would take it to $2.47. Probably not in straight line, but could be parabolic instead if a cup and handle is formed at this current level. Waiting for the handle to develop. Hope it does.

Yes, indeed more buy calls coming and in fact they raised their previous sell target price higher....
UOBKH fm 1.08 to 1.28
DBS fm 1.33 to 1.39
What does it tell us......they knew things is turning ard but they still not convinced or any
compelling reasons to upgrade the price higher . Are they behind the curve ?
Mkt is efficient and fwd looking.......The price action already lead the way....

Nanofilm will follow its clients Foxconn. So some work will be done in China for Foxconn, some will be done in where ever Foxconn is going. Note Nanofilm has set up a bigger than half a million sq ft facility in Vietnam

Just my little bit of observation, please treat it as a discussion.
The Boss of Foxconn is possibly going to run for Presidency in Taiwan, this move will very likely enrage China and vent the anger on Foxconn. Foxconn is trying to move big part of their business to India and is not exactly successful.
If Nanofilm is closely linked to Apple/Foxconn, this can really be a huge uncertainties in a long run.
Anyone can advise on this?

A lot of sell buy sell buy are probably wayang by the shorts to cover cheaper.
I would say those who shorted at $6, $5, $4 on the way down were pretty smart. But those who shorted between $1.51 and $1.3 ???

That wl exacerbate the buying up.
Given the improving economy of China for FY23
Things wl get better ....

According to MAS SPRS shortselling report, there were 9.5 mio shares shorted on 3 Feb (high probably around $1.51, and on 10 Feb, 16.5 mio shares shorted, so an increase of around 7 mio shares shorted (Low probably around $1.30)
So roughly avg short sell price is $1.40.
If the share price keeps going up,then there will be massive losses for the shorts. Hopefully they cover and push up the share price. Can change course and go long !
