The parent coy Pacific Andes International Holdings is listed in HK.  PARD n CFG are listed in spore.  I believe CFG are a main revenue contributor to the parent.  I believe its major assets are the Peruvian anchovy coy Copeinca n a few smaller Peruvian anchovy players n the fishing licences it holds in Peru.  Seems that the anchovy catch is in the main processed into fishmeal,  for agri-feed, n largely exported to the PRC.  It is also engaged in mackerel fishing n processing in Africa, if I recall correctly.  I think there' d been a number of attempts at transformational changes over the last few yrs, but I' ve not really kept  up in detail  since I' m no longer vested (thankfully).

I said about 1.5 years ago that CF was heavily in debt and el-nino will hit them badly.  also,  CF should have not pay the bond holders but redeem the Bank loan.     You pay the banks,  you can get another loan.  You pay the bond holder,  they will just say thank you.  May be CF was compelled to pay the bond holders under the Copeinca agreement   anyway,  it will be much better to deal with the bond holders than the banks..  CF made the wrong moves?
Company under liquidation....bankrupt or kaput...owing banks and bondholders hundreds of millions....
Where has all that money gone...?Swam away with the fishes?
The NGs thought buying over Copeinca can shake legs and drink cappuccino. Too bad .

You are correct.  Plus Mr Ng, 55, the owner of the Pacific Andes,  PARD and CFG is a Malaysian educated in Singapore and the US.  He took over from his father' s seafood trading business some 30 years ago.  Also Copeinca is the second largest fishing company in Peru which has about 10% quota in peru. The group of company was dragged down first by the Russian Pollock when there was a political trouble 3 years ago,  then they found and bought over Copeinca which was losing money about 2 years ago. This became their second trouble.  Think hard to come out of this mess until the El-nino is over.  That is the only hope.

My condolence to the holders
Hard to say. Maybe now that stock is suspended indefinitely, the counter party lending out the share purposely recall all the share on loan knowing there is no way for shortist to buy back.

Shorter will be " not so much of a problem."   They could advertise to buy cheap shares from the public (mutual and direct transfers fromone CDP to another done legally) and then close positions and make some money...

Cos a lot of them were already probably fly-by-night type, even before being listed here.  Don' t know how they hookwind the agent banks into getting listed here - just baffling to me.  On the other hand, CFG is not.  While highly geared, it is still a valuable coy, probably wating to be courted.  If not for the alleged inpropriety of the seemingly avaricious majority owners, n El Nino, the coy wld probably still not be in trouble.

Hmmmmmmm!!! Maybe shd not rule out China Investment Corp being a possible white knight.  After all, CFG are probably the biggest fishmeal producer in the world n a lot of the fishmeal is exported to China.  If we look at past strategic overseas acquisitions by the PRC, they seemed to have been done with the intention of gaining a strategic foothold on resources critical to themselves.  If it turns out that way, my guess is that they' ll probably pay a decent px, possibly substantially higher than CFG' s last traded px.

only Temasek or  China Investment Corp can buy them out now.
think China would be keen to acquire a coy who control majority supply of fish, fish meals, etc.
