ummmmm holding onto their holdings also a big risk cos the share px might drop below 1.80 and wash off their capital gain unless
they are planning for term by buying in more M1 share with cheaper price

i supposed they have the option to hold onto the shares.. they are big guys... they can hold and wait to monetised eventually when the timing is right.

what do you mean by most probably so ?
only  if the free float falls below 10 per cent then M1/KC/SPH can apply for delisting
If Axiata rejects the offer, it can never be happened because they are holding 28.7% of M1 shares

most probably so.
even if it remains listed, high chance price would drop back to pre-offer level. below that of current starhub price.

my point of view.

what will happen if we don' t accept the offer? Does it mean we will be holding shares of an unlisted M1? Tks.

Since the announcement in Sep last year, Axiata had all the time in the world to put together a rival bid. Now they are saying " there isn&rsquo t enough time left to pull together its own counteroffer" . Very disappointed with its management foresight

I thought this shd be stated as a term of the offer in the offer doc.  Recall that in the Hotel Props case, the sweetened offer allowed acceptors to keep the div.

If accept offer should not be able to get 6 cents divident.

anyone find that it is weird the offer is at $2.06 and divident 6 cents? So technically if we accept the offer, the cost from buyer is $2 per share instead of $2.06 as they will take the divident when the offer go through.

john_ric      ( Date: 29-Jan-2019 10:38) Posted:

if accept VGO can still receive the dividend?

Wierd indeed. Maybe the 6cts div is pre-planned during the VGO offer last year, becos KC/SPH only want to offer $2 per tendered share after all. A brilliant, cunning and an opportunistic move.

They have timed it so well that the TOTAl cost corporate associated with the acquistion of  the subsidiary is allocated tthis quarter. Perhaps that will make the outcome less rosy, and hence pressure investors to tender.

More reason for Kep/SPH not to increase offer..............................

M1 Q4 net profit falls 21.4% on higher costs
MON, JAN 28, 2019 - 6:05 PM

TELCO M1 - which is facing a general offer by Keppel Corp and  The Business Timespublisher Singapore Press Holdings - saw earnings slide in the fourth quarter on higher expenses, according to unaudited financial results released on Monday.

Net profit fell to S$25.2 million for the three months to Dec 31, 2018, down 21.4 per cent on the previous year, even as operating revenue edged higher by 3.7 per cent to S$312.8 million, supported by handset and equipment sales.

M1 attributed the damage to the bottom line to  higher customer acquisition and retention costs, a rise in staff numbers as the corporate business expanded, and higher repair and maintenance expenses.

I suspect KC/SPH purposely pushed back div pay date to 15 May (usually in Apr) so that they can have more time to accumulate 50%. Very Cunning.
