COVID-19: Phase 2 of reopening to start from Jun 19, social gatherings of up to five persons allowed

Hope everyone saw and took in the movement of the market today, and how the momentum changed. This what I mean by trade cautiously. Everything at your own discretion.
Happy trading everyone.
From my experience and knowledge, most cautious times for retail investors to trade (to hopefully minimize your risk) are in the afternoon (be it being higher or lower than the opening --- doesnt mean higher than what you wanted to buy = bad).

You have a good mind. And i think you got the point (i.e. you get " it" -- the core issues, the core factors) - you are not missing the point. Well-said.
(except that this is not the Mall thread haha.. but assuming you thought it was the mall thread. your train of though started from the right point -- that is the first qn and sets your analysis).
Phase 2 whether it's soon or later also fine. Just know it's not going to be long wait. Malls are like places to bring vibrancy back to this island.

I do buy. Some for long term some for short term. Some I may be inclined to sell. for me, all these have to base on available data. With the most (as much) factual data/info, it can lead to the most informed decision.
of course, as I mentioned below there is no certainty with trading. It' s a probability. Every trade has its risks and potential rewards.

Would recommend everyone to listen to the minister speech tonight:
he made some very good points. Unemployment will rise and the future is unpredictable. But it' s this generation' s time to lay a good framework for the next generation.
I was very touched when he recognised and thanked the Merdeka generation for building Singapore and laying the ground for the next generation (many of you young gents and ladies who have good causes for things around - high level of empathy and IQ ).

Minister just gave his speech. No news yet. Lets not jump the gun here.
remain cautious and stay safe first everbody -- hopefully we can alleviate the current situation (indeed other countries have 2nd wave and deaths already-- US and China just reported). Now SG creeping back.

I have several rental properties and am well resourced, but have tenants who are in distressed businesses such as F& B, and I cut their rental without them asking for help. No need to guess when its so clear. This is different from other crises, because there has never been a lock-down for such an extent before. |

I am pretty sure Phase 2 will start soon - the cases are dropping in the Community, and reaching the parameters spelled out earlier. I too want the market to drop to buy stocks cheaply but not at the expenses of families who will suffer financial pain. There are real lives suffering. That is not the right attitude.

I must say that this is a rather peculiar and insensitive remark - there are many real businesses and companies and people who are suffering due to job and business loss and closure and this is exacerbating. This will cause pain to their families. Phase 2 should come ASAP. Just to have Phase 2 extended so you can buy some stocks cheaper is crazy. Please consider this. I would rather there be other reasons such as Trump losing the US elections, to have market drops.
