The fact is the sub went to comfort. That ensure it turn to profit. This is for covid and event that is not due to the viability of the business. The main driver of their revenue is not taxi. It is public transport. Its solution to is decreasing fleet size is going into new markets like aus which is actually a driver of his increase of revenue across the years. So dont know what you are talking abt decrease fleet size and no solution to the problem. The solution is to emphasis on other area in profitable markets and to avoid the need to rely on taxi revenue.

And if it is making a profit of $21.7m, that is a lot of money. Why is the government giving subsidy? How much of this 21.7m was in fact our tax money paid from the government?

Even if subsidy continues, PHV remain the biggest threat to this company. Dont forget, its taxi fleet shrinks from 18,000 to the present 8,000 not because of Covid but because of Uber/Grab' competition.

It is easy to just day that bus and train is 75% and overeas is 50% and sweep the real problem under the carpet because it has no answer to that problem

Singapore makes up 55% of revenue, followed by Australia and UK/Ireland (each 20%).
Public transport (bus and rail) is by far the largest revenue segment (75%) followed by taxi   (13%).

EBIDTA cashflow generation is strong ($112m in 3Q20).   Outlook will definitely get better from here and 2Q20 was the bottom.
Near term headwinds will be when govt stops subsidy in Aug 21. We can only hope that things have largely normalised by then.

That so-called headwind is a laughing stock. It only reflects management inefficiency.

Smaller taxi companies only have fleets as small as a few hundreds to 1800 to maybe 3000 and they are surviving. Some PHV renting companies only have a few cars all the time and they are still around.

I think the real headwind is the continunious loss of drivers because of its high rental facing competition from PHV companies and other taxi companies.

Even with the big government relief? LTA has been paying $2200 per unhired taxi per month and this has been extended to Mar 2021.

$2200/month is $73 per day. This is as good as a full-hired out. The smaller companies are now only charging their drivers about $70 a day.

Too many VPs paid sky-high salaries?
