Change of shareholdings in GP Batteries International Limited
The Directors of GP Industries Limited (the &ldquo Company&rdquo ) are pleased to announce
that the Company has today acquired 124,400 ordinary shares (the &ldquo Additional
GPB Shares&rdquo ) in the capital of GP Batteries International Limited (&ldquo GP Batteries&rdquo )
by way of open market purchases on the Mainboard of the Singapore Exchange
Securities Trading Limited (the &ldquo SGX-ST&rdquo ). The aggregate consideration, excluding
brokerage and stamp duty, payable by the Company for the Additional GPB Shares
and to be funded by the Company&rsquo s internal cash resources, is S$124,600.
Based on the weighted average price of S$1.0038 per ordinary share in the capital
of GP Batteries (a &ldquo GPB Share&rdquo ) transacted on 9 April 2015, being the market day
preceding the date of acquisition of the Additional GPB Shares on which GPB
Shares were transacted on the SGX-ST, the market value of the Additional GPB
Shares is S$124,873.
Following the completion of the acquisition of the Additional GPB Shares, the
Company&rsquo s interest in GP Batteries will increase from 101,321,844 GPB Shares,
representing approximately 61.48 per cent. of the shareholdings in GP Batteries, to
101,446,244 GPB Shares, representing approximately 61.55 per cent. of the
shareholdings in GP Batteries.

Trading Limited (the &ldquo SGX-ST&rdquo ). The aggregate consideration, excluding brokerage
and stamp duty, payable by the Company for the Additional GPB Shares and to be
funded by the Company&rsquo s internal cash resources, is S$41,727.
Based on the weighted average price of S$0.9854 per ordinary share in the capital
of GP Batteries (a &ldquo GPB Share&rdquo ) transacted on 2 April 2015, being the market day
preceding the date of acquisition of the Additional GPB Shares on which GPB
Shares were transacted on the SGX-ST, the market value of the Additional GPB

Everyday there is buying by ceo Victor n recently GP Bat dropped to low 96.5 b4 resuming its clinb to 98.5cts today.if I am not wrong the employee n directors share options scheme exercisable at about $1.20 will be expiring soon...will the share be pushed further up or tajen private..looks well supported at current level and being thinly traded the public percentage may drop further..it seems only the director is buying everyday...can anyone comment on his aim?

Chairman buys more of GP Batteries (G08-GP.SP)
Chairman & CEO Victor Lo Chung Wing picked up where he left off in battery manufacturer GP Batteries International Limited (G08-GP.SP) [MKT CAP 163M] in January with 352,000 shares purchased from February 23 to 27 at 94 to 98 cents each or an average of 96.8 cents each [AI SCORE 3.9]. The trades, which accounted for 52% of the stock' s trading volume, increased his deemed holdings to 97.626 million shares or 59.24% of the issued capital. He also has direct interest of 300,000 shares or 0.18%. He previously acquired 1.29 million shares from January 2 to 27 at 80 cents to 92 cents each or an average of 83.2 cents each. Prior to his purchases this quarter, Mr. Lo acquired 4.94 million shares from September 29 to December 19, 2014 at an average of 79 cents each and 3.33 million shares from June to August 2014 at 58 cents to 80 cents each or an average of 71 cents each. The purchases since June 2014 are Mr. Lo' s first on-market trades since his appointment in April 2014. Aside from his trades since June 2014, the Chairman acquired 3.09 million shares* from February to March 2014 at an estimated price of 58.4 cents each and 700,000 shares* in March 2010 at $1.39 to $1.69 each or an average of $1.49 each (as a substantial shareholder). GP Batteries announced on February 11 a 3Q profit after tax of $6.908 million for the 3 months to 31 December 2014 versus a loss of $24.153 million in the same quarter in 2013. Earnings in the first 9 months were $24.987 million versus a loss of $20.291 million in the same period in 2013. The counter was trading at 98 cents on March 3 (Asia Insider News Mar 3, 2015).

After touching $1.21 in Feb 2013, GP Batteries stock has slumped by 50% to $0.560 recently, leaving the company with a market cap of S$62 million. ...last:$0.565...
Last week, chairman and CEO of GP Batteries, Andrew Ng, jumped to his death in Kwai Chung, Hong Kong. According to a police source, Ng, who is also the vice-chairman and executive director of GP Batteries' parent company- Gold Peak Industries (GPI), had been troubled by his company&rsquo s business over the past few months and had been depressed. We note that GP Batteries have been making 52-week lows in Jan and Feb this year, and was previously touted as a privatisation play back in 2010- with GPI holding 53.2% stake in the company. At the current price of $0.56, GP Batteries trade at 0.24x P/B and is loss-making.
I dun think GP batteries share price will be badly battered in coming Monday unless there is serious problem with the company.
agree with you. I am skeptical about Hong Kong businessman ethics but this CEO seems very trustworthy and friendly to all shareholders.
could there be foul play. if he wanted to commit suicide he could hv jumped from elsewhere & not his own factory building + why bring along his computer tablet n brief case yet leave it behind at the rooftop. In HK entreprenuerial environment, bankruptcy is so common that such act is unexpected.
moreover, a person of his age (64yrs) would hv gone through a lot of hardship in business (e.g. 1997 Asian Financial Crisis, SARS 2003 etc) so it is puzzling why he decide to commit suicide at this juncture (IF it is true).
From the AGMs, I' ve gathered that GP Batteries is like his baby. A nice chap who was always willing to lend a ear to shareholders at the end of the meetings previous AGM he even bought an item off the shelf as a gift to a shareholder. RIP.
