All China related companies face the same risks, be is Asiaphos, Imperium or for that matter, Capitaland.
if u buy a property in China, it is only for 70 years or 40 years (depending if residential or commercial), and in the balance sheet, it is put under property. Actually, you also need to depreciate over 70 years or 40 years. For Imperium, what it has is a 50 years right, and therefore considered intangible asset in the balance sheet. But as long as the right is clearly defined and protected, it is the same as a property.

If ever they have any disputes with the Chinese authorities, they become virtually a shell company. (Another Asia Phos?)

If you look carefully, Imperium 2H 2018 P& L is actually reporting a small net profit. The huge loss is because of the loss it incurred in 1H, which was reported earlier.
And if you look at the loss carefully, many are one time:
1. Loss incurred selling Japanese properties (one time)
2. Professional fees incurred when selling Japanese properties and buying GEM (one time)
3. Cost incurred for giving Sun Bowen rights (one time), and did not affect cash flow
etc, etc.
I am not sure why the company did not highlight these in a press release and let retail investors go away with the impression that it was losing a lot of money.
Like I said, this is a lousy and suspicious company |

After this Qingdao beer festival organised btw July to August. It will be the first time follow up by Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) subsidiary. Sphere Exhibits to organise the first Beerfest Asia event in China - Beerfest Shandong in Oct.
It is mean for international customers who may have the time n space to visit (oversea) for the first. So believe some beer lovers here in SG may try there. (First time experience). Think Day hotel (newly renovated) maybe fully book which is operated by Imperium Crown.
Just sharing info in what I'm thinking.
