Manila, 23rd December 2016 - Star Cruises, the leading cruise line in the Asia Pacific, has announced the first-ever homeport deployment of SuperStar Virgo to Manila, providing another tantalizing option for the booming Philippines outbound tourism industry. Featuring 6 Day/5 Night cruises departing from Manila, SuperStar Virgo&rsquo s itinerary is the perfect opportunity for Filipinos to enjoy exciting ports of call including:
&bull Laoag, the capital of Ilocos Norte, Philippines, featuring Spanish colonial buildings, baroque churches and white-sand beaches
&bull Kaohsiung, the largest southern port city in Taiwan, a centre of Chinese culture and cuisine
&bull Hong Kong, a bustling metropolis world famous for shopping, dining, entertainment and nightlife.
&ldquo Star Cruises was the first major cruise line to recruit Filipinos 23 years ago for our cruise ships and now we are pleased to be the first international cruise line to welcome Filipinos on board Superstar Virgo as our guests from our homeport in Manila,&rdquo says Ang Moo Lim, President of Star Cruises. &ldquo Worldwide, nearly 25 million people have enjoyed a cruise in 2016 and we are extending this opportunity for Filipinos to join their ranks from Manila &ndash and at an affordable price.&rdquo
Benito C. Bengzon, JR, Under Secretary for Department of Tourism welcomed the move of Star Cruises with: &ldquo The Philippine Department of Tourism extends its warmest congratulations to Star Cruises as it launches its latest program. We are confident that inclusion of the Philippines in the itinerary of SuperStar Virgo will help strengthen the country' s position as a competitive cruise destination in the region.&rdquo
I hv check back the previous announcement & found out that Gen Malaysia actually sold to Golden Hope Ltd a 16.78%, the total holding for Lim family is therefore still 75.55% as Golden Hope is part of Lim Family.
I was wondering whether GenHK will join force with GenSP to bid for Japan licence since their criuse ship is prowling between these countries...Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Keelung, Manila Bay & somewhere in Japan.
Sorry which companies with stake of 17.8% and 90% are you referring to?

Just my thought, if GenS go for Japan, will it partner with GenHK to bid, just like in S' pore.
Well, they can always connect Gaungzhou to Phillipine then to Taiwan & lastly to Japan.
Another thing is that why GenHK buy that 17.8% from Gen Malaysia, are they going to privatise it or are they going to issue new shares to public.
By the way, GenHK is now holding close to 90%.....why they want to hold so much ?
