Indonesia&rsquo s &lsquo Gasoline Godfather&rsquo Targeted in $18  Billion Graft Probe.

Mohammad Riza Chalid is the highest-profile businessman  in  the crosshairs of an  administration eager to supercharge growth in Southeast Asia&rsquo s largest economy.
Looks like the new Indonesia president hates big businesses and their corruption.

Does not look too good for Wilmar ?

Looks like it is more on makro economy and Indonesia govt policy for now.
while it is still unknow how the company will fight the corrupt accusation case.

The bigger picture will be whether Indonesia will have to 100% open up their market with
zero tarrif on American Soyabean, peanuts, sunflowerseed, canola and flax oilseeds.
which is cheaper.
The palm oil tree needs 4 year before can produce and lifespan of just 18 years meant
left with 14 years to harvest compare to soyabea, sunflowers, canola, flax peanuts that
can be replant every year.
If Indonesia government policy is to kow-tow to uncle sam, oil palm future is rather bleak,
Oil palm producer will faces significant challenge if the supply chain being caught in a cycle of decline or entire system risk collapsing.

Thanks for your sharing. Peers that are doing well .... personally i think the management has to do better

Palm oil' s versatility makes it ideal for various applications, from  food to cosmetics and even biofuel.  It' s a common ingredient in cooking, baking, and processed foods due to its high heat stability and ability to improve texture and shelf life.  Additionally, palm oil is used in soaps, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical products like cough syrups.

Palm oil prices are currently on the rise, with futures contracts on the Bursa Malaysia trading up.  This increase is driven by factors like rising crude oil prices, which make palm oil a more attractive option as a biofuel feedstock, and strong export demand, particularly to Europe.

for now, i am also staying away .... how to expect investors to have the trust in the coy.
even with George Yeo as non executive and independent director ... the coy is still not performing
market also discount his purchased of 176,500 shares at an average price of $3.09 a share which increased his direct interest to 776,500 shares or 0.012% ... last Friday closed at $2.92
aigoo aigoo .... hope they will wake up before they are being removed from STI index

Exactly ... " value of the share is determined by the company."
as investors ... we focus on the worth of the company and " Sugar King Robert Kuok" is known by everyone.
The performance of the management is having many scandals
Beginning of 2021, the price is at 5.64 and continue to go downhill until 2.91/2 ....
don' t you think it is such a shame ..... look at its  peers are doing well  in agriculture commodities such as oil palm cultivation, edible oils refining, oilseeds crushing and the rpoduction of consumer goods, specialty fats ....
If the management does not tidy their work, then they should not remain in STI and affect the index .... totally under-performed.

Share price is determined by the market esp individual players daily. With problems yet to be resolved players are stayong away. Rightfully!

Value of the share is determined by the company.

Share price can remain low longer than liquidity.

The world' s largest palm oil producing country is  Indonesia.Indonesia produces more than 30 million tons of palm oil annually, generating a significant portion of its GDP and providing employment to millions,  according to the UNDP.It accounts for a substantial percentage of global palm oil exports.  Wilmar investing into  ndonesia is correct ....

Wilmar' s chairman and CEO Kuok Khoon Hong similarly bought shares earlier at $3.07 each. George Yeo, an independent director of Wilmar International  F34, has paid $545,385, or $3.09 each, for another 176,500 shares. This brings his stake to 776,500 shares. Yeo, who was Singapore' s foreign minister, joined Wilmar' s board last April. Yeo' s buying came just days after Wilmar' s chairman and CEO Kuok Khoon Hong added to his stake as well.

What does not tally is the price ....  a lot to catch up on .... higoo higoo .... hope ready for ar-go-go

Market cap for Wilmar $18.2b whereas YZJ $11.3b
Compare same period from beginning 2021, Wilmar 5.64 down to 2.91/2
YZJ 1.05 went up to 2.91/2
Sugar King Robert Kuok or his management should do a review .... since MAS is reviewing SG stock market ... it is about time to question what are they doing .... embroiled in so many scandals ..... Aigoo aigoo .... no ar-go-go .... time to wake up their idea ....

It just does not reflect well on their performance .... could someone share your thoughts ...
if it is not   performing as it should be as an STI stock, then it does not deserve to be in.
what do you think ....

just wondering why would a lacklustre counter be placed in STI.
The performance is so wrong .... for the same price, maybe YZJ, Food Empire etc
Beginning of 2021 @ 5.64 kept sliding downward until 2.91/2 ....
I' m sure market has high regard for Robert Kuok but the result does not comensurate to its performance
just voicing my thoughts
